Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson is an American country musician and songwriter. He was born in Abbott, Texas on April 29, 1933. Nelson has been a prolific recording artist since the 1960s, releasing more than 200 albums. His hit singles include “Crazy”, “On the Road Again”, and “Always on My Mind”. His album Red Headed Stranger was certified platinum in 1986.

Johnny Cash

In 1955, a year after he released his first album, Johnny Cash was imgainary incarcerated in Folsom State Prison. As he wrote in his 1968 autobiography, Man in Black, “I heard the train a-coming, its whistle blowing loud and shrill.” This momentous occasion was his introduction to the prison, which would become the subject of one of his most iconic songs.

While Cash was never actually an inmate at Folsom, he did perform there on January 13, 1968. The concert was recorded and released as an album, At Folsom Prison. The album is widely considered one of the greatest live albums ever recorded, and it helped to cement Cash’s place as “The Man in Black.”

Waylon Jennings

No other artist embodied the outlaw spirit of country music like Waylon Jennings. He was a rebel with a cause, a man who fought against Nashville’s “standard sound” to create his own unique brand of music. His songs were gritty and real, and his performances were always electrifying.

Jennings began his career as a member of the iconic country group The Highwaymen, but it was his solo work that made him a legend. He released more than 60 albums over the course of his career, and he charted more than 80 singles on the Billboard country chart. Some of his most famous songs include “Good Hearted Woman,” “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” and “I Ain’t Living Long Like This.”

Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks is an American country music singer-songwriter. His integration of rock and pop elements into the country genre has earned him immense popularity in the United States. Brooks has had great success on the country single and album charts, with multi-platinum recordings and record-breaking live performances, acting as a catalyst for bringing country music back to a mainstream audience.

Throughout his career, Brooks has released six studio albums, two live albums and three compilation albums. His latest album, Man Against Machine, was released in November 2014 and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart. The album’s first single, “People Loving People”, was released to radio in September 2014 and peaked at No. 25 on the Country Airplay chart.

Shania Twain

Shania Twain was born on August 28, 1965, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Sharon and Jerry Twain. When she was two years old, her parents divorced, and she and her mother moved to Timmins, Ontario. Jerry Twain later remarried Jackie Rickard, with whom he had three children. Jackie helped raise Shania and taught her how to yodel.

In 1987, Shania moved to Toronto to pursue her music career. She met producer/songwriter Robert John “Mutt” Lange while performing at a club there. The two began dating and eventually married in 1993. Mutt Lange produced Shania’s first album, The Woman in Me (1995), which sold more than 12 million copies in the United States and became the best-selling country album of all time.

Shania’s follow-up album, Come On Over (1997), continued her commercial success. It became the best-selling album of all time by a female artist and the best-selling country album of all time. To date, Come On Over has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide.

In 1998, Shania Twain was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. She has won five Grammy Awards and 27 BMI Songwriting awards. In 2002, she was named one of the 30 most powerful women in America by Ladies’ Home Journal magazine.

Keith Urban

Keith Lionel Urban (born 26 October 1967) is a New Zealand-born Australian country music singer, songwriter and guitarist whose success has made him one of the most recognizable celebrities in the world. Raised in Caboolture, Queensland, Urban began his career in 1991 with the release of his self-titled debut album. His successes continued throughout the early 2000s; he won his first Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance in 2004 for “You’ll Think of Me”, followed by two more Grammy Awards and numerous other awards.

In 2005, he released his critically acclaimed album Be Here, which produced five hit singles including “Better Life” and “Sweet Thing”. A fourth album entitled Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing was released in 2006. His fifth studio album Defying Gravity was released on 16 March 2009 and debuted at number one on both the Top Country Albums chart and the all-genre Billboard 200.. In October 2013, he released a sixth studio album Fuse, which produced four more number one singles on the Country Airplay chart and became Urban’s fourth consecutive album to debut atop both the Country Albums chart and Billboard 200.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood rose to fame after winning American Idol in 2005. Since then, she has become one of the most successful country music artists of all time. She has won numerous awards, including five Grammy Awards and seven Billboard Music Awards. In addition to her successful music career, Underwood is also an accomplished actress. She has starred in a number of films, including Soul Surfer and The Sound of Music Live!.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert is an American country music singer and songwriter. She started her musical career writing songs for other artists, and then released her own debut album in 2005. Lambert has since released seven more studio albums, and has become one of the most celebrated country music artists of her generation. She is known for her powerful voice and for her honest, heart-wrenching lyrics.

Lambert has won numerous awards throughout her career, including the Grammy Award for Best Country Album, the Academy of Country Music Award for Album of the Year, and the Country Music Association Award for Female Vocalist of the Year. She is also a nine-time winner of the CMA Award for Single of the Year, tying her with Carrie Underwood as the only female artists to win that award more than once.

Lambert’s most recent album, The Weight of These Wings, was released in 2016 to critical acclaim. The album debuted at number one on both the Billboard 200 chart and the Top Country Albums chart, making it Lambert’s sixth consecutive number one album on the latter chart.
