Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant is a Twin Cities music venue that specializes in jazz. Located in St. Paul’s historic pairing of the historic Marshall Field’s and Dayton’s department stores, the Dakota has two stages: the main stage features a thrust configuration and the more intimate Dakota Bar & Lounge. The venue also contains a mezzanine level with access to both stages and a private VIP area.

The Dakota is known for booking both local and national talent across all genres of music, with a focus on jazz. The club has gained national recognition, being rated one of the “Top 100 Jazz Clubs in the World” by Downbeat Magazine and one of America’s “Great Jazz Venues” by JazzTimes .

Venue Information

The Dakota Jazz Club is located at 1010 Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. The Dakota has been a Twin Cities music institution since 1985. The Dakota features live music seven nights a week, as well as a full food and drink menu.

Location

The Dakota is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, just off Nicollet Mall.
We are within walking distance of most hotels and parking ramps, and we offer valet parking for your convenience.

Hours

The Dakota is open nightly for dinner, music, and cocktails. Lounge and seating areas are available on a first-come, first-serve basis; reservations are not necessary for the lounge or bar areas.

Doors open for dinner at 5:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and at 4:30 PM on Sundays. We recommend arriving no later than 30 minutes before show time if you wish to be seated for dinner before the performance. The Dakota serves a last call for dinner one hour before the scheduled end of most shows; the full menu is usually available until this time.

Seating in the music room generally begins 30 minutes prior to show time. If you arrive after music has started, you will be seated in available seats at the discretion of management in order to minimize disruptions for other guests and musicians.

The Dakota Jazz Club offers a wide variety of live music every night of the week. You can purchase tickets online or at the door, and we have a variety of different pricing options to fit your needs. Check out our calendar to see who is playing when, and get more information on the artists below.

Ticket Prices

Dakota Jazz Club offers a variety of ticketing options to suit your needs. You can purchase tickets online, by phone, or in person at the box office.

Online tickets are available 24 hours a day and will be emailed to you immediately upon completion of your purchase. Phone orders are taken Monday-Friday 9am-5pm CST. Box office hours are Tuesday-Saturday 5pm-9pm CST. Prices do not include sales tax or applicable fees.

Ticket prices vary depending on the event, but typically range from $5-30 for general admission shows, and $30-60 for VIP shows. A $2 per ticket processing fee is applied to all online and phone orders. All sales are final, no refunds or exchanges.

Box Office Hours

The Dakota Box Office is open Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Box Office is happy to sell tickets for all shows at the Dakota, including shows at both the main stage and the side stage, as well as merchandise and gift certificates.

To purchase tickets, please come to the Box Office or call 612-332-5299. We are proud to sell tickets through both Ticketmaster and etix, which are accessible through our website dakotacooks.com. Convenience fees will apply when using these services.

You can purchase tickets to Dakota Jazz Club shows through our website, dakotacooks.com, or by calling (651) 583-1719. Please note that there is a $5 per ticket service fee for all online and phone orders.

To avoid service fees altogether, you can also purchase tickets in person at the Dakota Box Office, which is open Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm and Saturday noon-5pm. The address is 1010 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403.
