The Edmonton Folk Music Festival is an annual event that takes place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is one of the largest and most popular folk festivals in North America, attracting around 100,000 people each year. The festival features a wide range of musical genres, from traditional folk to contemporary pop, and is known for its intimate atmosphere and relaxed vibe.

This year’s festival will take place from August 10-13 at Gallagher Park. Tickets are now on sale, and you can expect to see some great performances from both emerging and established artists. Here is everything you need to know about the 2017 Edmonton Folk Music Festival.

The Lineup

The Edmonton Folk Music Festival is a not-for-profit society and Folk Fest tickets are our only source of revenue. Proceeds from ticket sales help us keep artist fees and operating costs affordable, so that we can continue to produce a high quality festival each year. All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.

Tickets go on sale in early May, at which time you will be able to purchase them online, by phone or in person at the Festival office. If you are purchasing tickets for an event that has not yet taken place, please check the date and time of the event before you buy your tickets, as we cannot refund or exchange tickets for events that have been rescheduled or cancelled.

Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder, but please note that infants in strollers are not permitted in the concert bowl area.

Getting There

The Edmonton Folk Music Festival is held at Gallagher Park, located in Edmonton, Alberta. The park is located just north of the downtown core, and is easily accessible by public transit. For those coming from out of town, the Edmonton International Airport is located just south of the city.

What to Bring

Assuming you already have your ticket, the only other things you need to bring to the Folk Fest are:
-Your sense of adventure!
-A valid government issued photo ID (You will need this if you want to drink alcohol)
-Cash (There are ATMs on site, but they can have long lineups. Save yourself the time and hassle and come prepared with cash.)
-A refillable water bottle (You can bring an empty water bottle and fill it up at one of the many water stations on site.)
-Sunscreen and a hat (It can get pretty sunny out there, especially during late afternoon/early evening sets.)
-Comfortable shoes (You will be doing a lot of walking, so leave the high heels at home.)

· Food and drink: There will be a variety of food and drink vendors at the festival, so you won’t go hungry or thirsty! You can also bring your own food and drink into the festival site, but coolers and open containers are not allowed inside the concert bowl area.

· Tickets: Tickets to the festival are available for purchase online or at the gate. Prices vary depending on which day(s) you plan on attending and whether you want a single-day or multi-day pass. Children 12 and under get in free when accompanied by a paying adult.

· Weather: The weather in Edmonton in August can be quite warm, so be sure to dress accordingly! However, it can also rain during the festival, so pack rain gear just in case.
