Deep house:
When it comes to deep house, 2018 was definitely not the year for innovation. In fact, it was quite the opposite – many artists simply regurgitated the same tired sound that has been done to death over the past few years. There were a few standout tracks, but for the most part, it was more of the same.

Progressive house:
Progressive house also saw very little innovation in 2018. The genre continued to be dominated by the same cookie-cutter sound that has been peddled by major labels for years. That being said, there were a few bright spots, with some artists managing to put their own spin on the genre and create something fresh and exciting.

Electro house:
Electro house had a bit of a mixed year in 2018. On one hand, there were plenty of tracks that relied heavily on generic sound patterns and overused samples. However, there were also a number of artists who managed to break out of the mold and create something truly unique. Overall, it was a pretty average year for electro house.
