Dance music has been around for centuries, with its origins in the folk music of Europe. In the early 20th century, the genre started to take shape in the form of big band and jazz music. By the mid-20th century, electronic dance music had taken over the world, with the Netherlands and France leading the way. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at the best of electronic dance music from the Netherlands and France.

Hardwell

Hardwell, born Robbert van de Corput, is a Dutch big room house and electro house DJ and record producer. He was voted the world’s number one DJ on DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs poll in 2013 and again in 2014. Hardwell is also the founder of the record label Revealed Recordings.

Tiesto

Tiesto is one of the most popular and well-known DJs in the world, and he is originally from the Netherlands. He is known for his trance and electronic music, and he has won numerous awards throughout his career. He is also one of the founders of the popular dance music festival, Tomorrowland.

Afrojack

Afrojack is a Dutch EDM DJ and producer who has had a string of hits, including “Take Over Control” and “No Beef.” He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business, including David Guetta, Steve Aoki, and Pitbull. In 2013, he was ranked number 7 on DJ Magazine’s list of the 100 best DJs in the world.

France

It would be impossible to talk about the best of electronic dance music without mentioning the two powerhouse nations of the genre: the Netherlands and France. These two countries have been at the forefront of the EDM scene for years, and they show no signs of slowing down. In this article, we’ll be focusing on the best of what these two countries have to offer.

David Guetta

David Guetta is a French DJ, songwriter, record producer and remixer who has sold over nine million albums and thirty million singles worldwide. In 2011, Guetta was voted as the number one DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll. In 2013, Billboard crowned “When Love Takes Over” as the number one dance-pop collaboration of all time.

Guetta has released seven studio albums, all of which have been commercially successful. His debut album, Just a Little More Love, was released in 2002 and contained the hit singles “Just a Little More Love”, “The World Is Mine” and “Would I Lie to You”. After the success of his second album Guetta Blaster (2004), which contained the hit singles “Stay” and “Money”, he released his third album Pop Life in 2007. The album was a commercial success, selling over three million copies worldwide and spawning four commercially successful singles, including “Baby When the Light”, which peaked at number one in several countries.

In 2009, Guetta released One Love – his fourth studio album – which contained the hit singles “When Love Takes Over”, “Sexy Bitch” and ” Memories”. The album was a commercial success, selling over five million copies worldwide and earning him a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. His fifth studio album, Nothing but the Beat (2011), was also a commercial success; it sold more than two million copies worldwide and contained five hits singles: “Where Them Girls At”, “Little Bad Girl”, “Turn Me On”, without will.I.”and Titanium”. Guetta’s sixth studio album Listen (2014) was met with moderate success; it debuted at number four on Billboard 200 chart in the United States but only peaked at number two on UK Albums Chart. Its first three singles – “#thatPOWER”, “Shot Me Down” and Dangerous – were all commercial successes; they peaked at number two on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart in US respectively.

Martin Solveig

Martin Solveig is a French electronic musician and DJ. He is a co-founder of the record label Mixture Stereophonic. His 2010 song “Hello” was a worldwide hit, reaching number one in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway Poland, Portugal Slovakia and Switzerland

Bob Sinclar

Bob Sinclar (born Christophe Le Friant; 10 May 1969) is a French record producer, house music DJ, remixer and the owner of the record label Yellow Productions. Musical style and work – His musical style is varied, mixing influences of house, disco, pop, R&B, and hip hop. Some of his notable hits include “World, Hold On”, “Rock This Party”, “Sound of Freedom”, “Love Generation”, “Heart of Africa” and “Give a Lil’ Love”.
