Billboard Hot 100

The Billboard Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by Billboard magazine. The Billboard Hot 100 is based on sales, radio play, and online streaming. The Billboard Hot 100 chart ranks the 100 most popular songs of the week.

The Weeknd – “Blinding Lights”

“Blinding Lights” is a song by Canadian singer The Weeknd from his fourth studio album After Hours (2020). The song was released on November 29, 2019, as the lead single from the album. On March 21, 2020, the song reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming The Weeknd’s fourth US number-one single. In doing so, he became the first artist in history to have all of his lead singles from each of his first four albums peak at number one.

Post Malone – “Circles”

“Circles” is a song by American singer-songwriter Post Malone. It was released on August 30, 2019, as the lead single from his second studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding (2019). The song was written by Malone, Louis Bell and Frank Dukes, and produced by the latter two. “Circles” peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. Internationally, it reached number one in Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Lebanon, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal Slovak Republic, Sweden and Switzerland; as well as the top five in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Lil Nas X – “Old Town Road”

Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” just made history by becoming the longest-running No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The track, which features country rapper Billy Ray Cyrus, spent its 17th week atop the Hot 100 this week, surpassing Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” and Maroon 5’s “One More Night,” which both spent 16 weeks at No. 1.

“Old Town Road” is now also the No. 1 song of 2019 so far.

Billboard 200

The Billboard 200 is a record chart that ranks the 200 most popular music albums and EPs in the United States. It is published weekly by Billboard magazine. The data is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and is based on sales of albums in the United States.

Lil Baby – My Turn

Roddy Ricch – Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial

Roddy Ricch’s debut albumPlease Excuse Me for Being Antisocial arrives at No. 1 on Billboard 200 with 131,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S.

In the week ending Dec. 12, the set — which was released on Dec. 6 through Atlantic Records — collected 91,000 in album sales, nearly all from traditional retail outlets. The remainder of its starting sum is comprised of 32,000 streaming equivalent albums and 8,000 track equivalent albums.

Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial is the first full-length release for Ricch, who prior to this album had only issued a pair of mixtapes: Feed Tha streetsin 2017 andFeed Tha streets IIin 2018. He has also amassed a sizable catalog of guest appearances on other artists’ songs, including Nipsey Hussle’s “Racks in the Middle” (which peaked at No. 33 on the Hot 100), Meek Mill’s “Goin Bad” (No. 6) and Mustard’s “Ballin” (No. 11).

UK Singles Chart

Dua Lipa – “Don’t Start Now”

1. “Don’t Start Now” is a song by English singer Dua Lipa from her second studio album, Future Nostalgia (2020). The song was released as the lead single from the album on 31 October 2019.
2. “Don’t Start Now” is a disco-influenced synth-pop song with elements of new wave. The song’s lyrics are about playing hard to get and rebound relationships.
3. The song received acclaim from music critics, who praised its production and Lipa’s vocal performance. It won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
4. Commercially, “Don’t Start Now” entered at number two on the UK Singles Chart and peaked at number one in January 2020, giving Lipa her second UK chart-topper and fifth top-ten single overall. The song also topped charts in several other countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain. In the United States, it reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 – making it Lipa’s highest-charting single in the country – while also topping Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart.
5. An accompanying music video for “Don’t Start Now” was directed by Henry Scholfield and premiered on 31 October 2019. It features Lipa dancing in various colourful outfits and discusses breakups and starting anew.

Tones and I – “Dance Monkey”

Number one for eight weeks.

“Dance Monkey” is a song recorded by Australian singer Tones and I, released on 10 May 2019 as the second single from Tones and I’s debut EP The Kids Are Coming (2019). The song was written by Tones and I and produced by Konstantin Kersting. It is a pop, dance-pop, electropop and EDM song with a length of three minutes and thirty seconds.

In the United Kingdom, “Dance Monkey” entered at number one on the UK Singles Chart on 26 October 2019 – for the week ending dated 1 November 2019 – with 58,000 chart sales, including 42,000 purchases and 16,000 streams. This marked Tones and I’s first number-one single in the UK, as well as her first UK top-ten single. The song spent eight consecutive weeks at number one, before being replaced by “Own It” by Stormzy featuring Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy. “Dance Monkey” became the longest-running number-one single of 2019 in the UK on 15 December 2019, when it spent its seventh consecutive week atop the chart; it ultimately spent eight non-consecutive weeks at number one during the year (weeks ending 9 November 2019, 16 November 2019, 23 November 2019, 30 November 2019 and 7 December 2019). The song also topped charts in over 30 other countries.

Lewis Capaldi – “Before You Go”

1. “Before You Go” is a song by Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi. It was released as a single on 17 January 2020 through Virgin EMI Records, Capitol Records, and Universal Music Group.

2. The song peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart, making it Capaldi’s second consecutive number-one single after “Someone You Loved”. It also became the longest-running number-one single of 2020 so far in the UK, spending four weeks at the top spot.

3. On 21 February 2020, the song was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), denoting sales and streams of over 600,000 combined units in the UK.

4. The song has peaked at number two on both the Scottish Singles Chart and the Irish Singles Chart. In the former chart, it became Capaldi’s highest-charting single to date, surpassing “Someone You Loved”, which peaked at number four in 2019.

5. Internationally, “Before You Go” has reached number one in Belgium and Iceland, as well as peaked within the top ten of several countries including Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Switzerland.

ARIA Singles Chart

The ARIA Singles Chart is compiled by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). It is based on data collected from the weekly sales of singles in Australia. The ARIA Singles Chart is one of the electronic music charts.

The Weeknd – “Blinding Lights”

The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” spends a second week at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, extending its lead over USC’s “No Time To Die.”

In doing so, the Canadian singer-songwriter tallies a ninth week at the top of the chart in 2020 – putting him level with Lil Nas X for the most weeks spent at No. 1 so far this year.

“Blinding Lights” debuted atop the ARIA Singles Chart in late March and has now racked up two weeks in total at No. 1. The track is taken from The Weeknd’s recent album After Hours, which debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart back in March.

Tones and I – “Dance Monkey”

“Dance Monkey” is a song by Australian singer Tones and I, released on 10 May 2019 as the second single from Tones and I’s debut EP The Kids Are Coming (2019). It became Tones and I’s first number-one single on the ARIA Singles Chart in Australia in 2019. “Dance Monkey” is certified eleven-times platinum in Australia, making it the country’s second-highest selling single of all time, behind only Australian artist John Farnham’s 1985 single “You’re the Voice”. In October 2020, the song was announced as the decade-ending number-one song on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

The Weeknd – “Blinding Lights”

The Weeknd – “Blinding Lights” remains in the top spot on the Canadian Hot 100 for a fourth consecutive week. The electronic/dance radio airplay single by Canadian singer The Weeknd also tops Billboard’s dance club songs and hot R&B songs charts in the United States.

Justin Bieber – “Intentions”

“Intentions” is a song recorded by Canadian singer Justin Bieber for his fifth studio album, Changes (2020). The song features American rapper Quavo and was released as the album’s third single on February 7, 2020. It peaked at number one on the Canadian Hot 100, becoming Bieber’s ninth chart-topper in Canada and Quavo’s second. In the United States, it debuted at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Bieber his sixth top-ten single from Changes and Quavo his fourth. The track also became Bieber’s fourth consecutive number-one on the Mainstream Top 40 chart.

Post Malone – “Circles”

“Circles” is a song by American rapper and singer Post Malone. It was released by Republic Records on August 30, 2019, as the third single from his second studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding (2019). The song was written by Malone, Louis Bell, Austin Post and Adam Feeney, and produced by Frank Dukes, Bell and TankGod. “Circles” peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and became Malone’s second US number-one single. It also peaked at number one in Canada, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Norway.
