Smithsonian Folkways Recordings

Smithsonian Folkways Recordings is the nonprofit recording label of the Smithsonian Institution. It is dedicated to supporting folk, traditional, and world music artists from around the globe and preserving their musical cultures. Folkways was founded by Moses Asch in 1948, and since its beginning, has released over 2,000 albums of music.

Folkways recordings are available on CD, vinyl, and as digital downloads. You can also find many of their albums streaming on popular music services like Spotify and Apple Music. The label has an extensive online store, where you can purchase physical copies of their albums or individual songs.
