The Bowery Ballroom, New York

The Bowery Ballroom is a music venue in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. It is located on the East Village/Lower East Side and was opened in 1997 by brothers Michael and Eugene Trefethen. The venue is on the site of the original Bowery Ballroom, which was demolished in1997. It has a capacity of 550 people and is known for its intimate atmosphere. The Bowery Ballroom has been used as a location for films, TV shows, and music videos.

The two venues were closed in 1971 due to financial troubles, but were eventually revived by different owners. The Fillmore East reopened in 1994 and is now known as the Irving Plaza. The Fillmore West reopened in 2007 and is now called the Regency Ballroom. Both venues are owned and operated by Live Nation.
