Jain

The Limiñanas

The Limiñanas are a French pop music duo from Marseille, consisting of Lionel and Marie Liminana. They cite a wide range of influences including 60s yé-yé, garage rock, psychedelia, film noir soundtracks, and the work of authors like J.G. Ballard and Patricia Highsmith. The band’s name is derived from the 1963 film Les Limiñanas, directed by Philippe Labro.

The duo’s self-titled debut album was released in 2010 to critical acclaim in France, and was followed by a string of successful singles and EPs. Their second album, Crystal Anis, was released in 2012 to similar acclaim. The Limiñanas are currently working on their third album, which is due for release in 2014.
