Japan has given the world many great things: sushi, samurai, and Hello Kitty, to name a few. But in the world of heavy metal, one Japanese import towers above the rest: From Love From Hell’s guitarist Takayoshi Ohmura.

Ohmura is not only an incredible guitar player, but also a master of showmanship. In this video, he does both with ease. His playing is fast and precise, while his stage presence is larger than life. As he tears through the solo in “From Love From Hell”, it’s clear that he’s having the time of his life. And when he’s not shredding on stage, he’s writing guitar instructional books and giving clinics around the world.

Whether you’re a fan of metal or just a fan of great guitar playing, Takayoshi Ohmura is someone you need to check out.
