The Latin American Music Awards are an annual music awards show that recognizes outstanding achievement in the Latin music industry. The show is produced by dick clark productions and airs live on the Telemundo network.

Introduction

The Latin American Music Awards (LMAAs) is an annual awards show that recognizes the musical achievements of Latin artists in the United States. Held annually since 2016, the awards ceremony features performances by some of the biggest names in Latin music, as well as presentation of awards in various categories.

The first Latin American Music Awards were held on October 6, 2016 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony was hosted by Pitbull and Prince Royce, and was broadcast live on Telemundo. Shakira and Juanes were the big winners of the night, each taking home three awards.

In 2017, the Latin American Music Awards moved to Univision’s network and were held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on October 26, 2017. The show was once again hosted by Pitbull and Prince Royce, and featured performances by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, Demi Lovato, Wisin & Yandel, J Balvin, Marco Antonio Solís, Reynaldo Gianecchini and Los Tigres del Norte.

The 2018 Latin American Music Awards took place on October 25, 2018 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The show was hosted by Jacky Bracamontes and Diego Boneta, and featured performances by Becky G., Natti Natasha, Zion & Lennox, Bad Bunny among others. Ozuna was the big winner of the night with four awards.

The 2019 Latin American Music Awards were held on October 17, 2019 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The show was hosted by Leslie Grace and Alfonso Merlos, and featured performances by Maluma, Becky G., Rosalía among others. Bad Bunny won four awards including Artist of the Year becoming the first artist to win that award twice consecutively.

The 2020 Latin American Music Awards took place on October 20th at 8pm ET/PT with a virtual event due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. This year’s winners were announced on May 2, 2022. The Latin American Music Awards were created to recognize the most gifted and successful artists in the Latin American music industry. The show features live musical performances and awards in various categories, including Pop, Rock, Salsa, Tropical, Regional Mexican, Urban and More.

The award for New Artist of the Year went to Brazilian singer Anitta. Anitta rose to fame in 2013 with her single “Show das Poderosas”, which peaked at number two on the Brazilian Hot 100 chart. Since then, she has released two studio albums and numerous hit singles, including “Zen” and “Paradinha”.

In the category of Best Collaboration, the winners were announced as Ricky Martin and Maluma for “No Lie.”

Jhay Cortez is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter who has been making waves in the Latin music scene since he released his first album, “Familia” in 2018. Cortez’s smooth R&B sound has been praised by critics and fans alike, and he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Bad Bunny and Ozuna.

Camilo is a Colombian singer-songwriter who made his debut with the single “Me Vuelvo Loco” in 2019. Since then, he has released a string of hit singles and his 2020 album, “Mis Manos.” Camilo’s music is a mix of pop, R&B and reggaeton, and he often writes about social issues affecting Colombia and other Latin American countries.
