How are the Billboard Gospel Music charts compiled?

The Billboard Gospel Music charts are compiled by Billboard magazine from sales data collected by SoundScan and radio information collected by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. SoundScan is a system that tracks music sales data by collecting information from more than 14,000 retail outlets worldwide, while Nielsen BDS is a service that monitors radio airplay.
