The band has received five Grammy nominations, winning a single award for the song “Eyes of the Insane”, which appeared on their 2006 album Christ Illusion.

Slayer’s musical style involves fast tremolo picking, double bass drumming, riffs in irregular scales or in atypical time signatures with uncommonly darkened or controversial lyrics. Their lyrics often deal with death, violence, bloodlust, terrorism/war (against establishment), anti-Christianity/religion (particularly Satanism), conspiracy theories/the New World Order (NWO), serial killers and depreciation of liberal social trends such as gay rights movement (slut shaming) and feminism.

Megadeth

Formed in 1983, Megadeth is an American heavy metal band that was a pioneer of the thrash metal genre. The band is led by guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine, who is the only original member still in the band. Megadeth has released 15 studio albums, and has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards. They have sold over 38 million albums worldwide and are considered one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time.

Anthrax

Anthrax is an American thrash metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Charlie Benante. Anthrax’s first two albums—”Fistful of Metal” (1984) and “Spreading the Disease” (1985)—received mainly positive reviews.[5][6][7] “Among the Living” (1987) debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200, while “State of Euphoria” (1988) reached number eight. For most of their career, the band has been a trio of Scott Ian on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Charlie Benante on drums and backing vocals, and Frank Bello on bass and backing vocals. Anthrax is one of the “big four” thrash metal bands, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer; groups that have Mahar crossover success. The band has released 11 studio albums, several other compilations and live recordings.

Exodus

Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1979 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Exodus was one of the leaders of the Bay Area thrash metal scene. The band’s current lineup consists of guitarists Gary Holt and Lee Altus, bass guitarist Jack Gibson, drummer Tom Hunting, and lead vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza.

Exodus has released ten studio albums, two live albums, and two compilations. Their first album, Bonded by Blood (1985), was highly influential upon its release and is cited as one of the most important thrash metal albums. Another studio album, Fabulous Disaster (1989), peaked at number 158 on the Billboard 200. The band is also known for their material covering topics such as nuclear war (both “Toxic Waltz” and “Strike of the Nile”),goblins (“Piranha”), murder (“Death Row”), terrorism(“The Toxic Touch”), religion (“Disciples of Destruction”), cluster bombs (“Blacklist”), drug addiction (“Low Rider”) and individualism (“Beyond Me”).

Killswitch Engage is an American metalcore band from Westfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1999 after the disbanding of Overcast and Aftershock. The band is currently signed to Metal Blade Records. As I Lay Dying

As I Lay Dying is an American heavy metal band from San Diego, California. The band’s fifth studio album, The Powerless Rise, was released on May 11, 2010. Bassist Josh Gilbert announced his departure from the band on July 15, 2011. In September 2011, the band released a statement saying they had fired lead vocalist Tim Lambesis due to personal issues. The same day, Lambesis was arrested and charged with soliciting murder; he pleaded guilty in 2014 and was sentenced to six years in prison. Vocalist Phil Sgrosso joined in his place for their sixth studio album Awakened which was released on September 25, 2012 by Metal Blade Records

Unearth is an American heavy metal band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band formed in 1998 and has released eight studio albums. Unearth has endured many lineup changes since its formation, with vocalist Trevor Phipps being the only constant member.
