Metallica

Metallica is an American heavy metal band. The band was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, California by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist James Hetfield, and has been based in San Francisco, California for most of its career. The group’s fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship placed them as one of the founding “big four” bands of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer. Metallica’s current lineup comprises founding members Hetfield and Ulrich, longtime lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo. Guitarist Dave Mustaine (who went on to form Megadeth) and bassists Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted are former members of the band.

Formed in 1983 by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, Megadeth is considered one of the “big four” of thrash metal, along with Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer. They have released 15 studio albums, with their most recent being Dystopia in 2016. Megadeth is known for their fast-paced, technical guitar work and aggressive lyrics. Slayer

Slayer has released eleven studio albums, two live albums, and a box set. The band has received five Grammy nominations, winning one in 2007 for the song “Eyes of the Insane”.

Anthrax is an American heavy metal band from New York City, formed in 1981. The band is considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal movement, and they have sold over 20 million records worldwide. Anthrax was one of the first bands to combine heavy metal with rap music, and they have been credited as one of the pioneers of rap metal. The band’s biggest hits include “I Am the Law”, “Indians”, and “Bring the Noise”.
