The Vinyl opened on March 10, 2013, with a performance by The Cult. The venue was originally intended to open in February 2013, but was delayed due to construction delays.

On May 31, 2013, it was announced that due to low ticket sales, The Cult’s show at The Vinyl on June 8 would be moved to the much larger House of Blues Las Vegas down the strip.
