Hip Hop

Right now, Hip Hop and R&B are killing the charts. Big name artists like Drake, Cardi B, and Kendrick Lamar are dominating the music industry, and for good reason. Their music is catchy, relatable, and gets people moving. If you’re looking for some new music to add to your playlist, you can’t go wrong with any of these artists.

Cardi B

Cardi B is one of the hottest rappers in the game right now. She first came to prominence as a cast member on the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York, but she has since parlayed her success on the small screen into a successful career in music. Her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, was released in April 2018 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards, and Cardi B became the first female rapper to ever be nominated for that award.

Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X is a 19-year-old rapper, singer, and songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. He is best known for his breakout hit single, “Old Town Road,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 19 weeks.

Lil Nas X first rose to prominence in late 2018 with the release of his single “Old Town Road.” The song became a viral sensation on social media platform TikTok, with users creating videos of themselves lip syncing and dancing to the track. In March 2019, Lil Nas X released a remix of “Old Town Road” featuring country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus. The remix helped to increase the song’s popularity, and it eventually reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it stayed for a record-breaking 19 weeks.

Lil Nas X has since released several other successful singles, including “Panini,” “Rodeo,” and “Holiday.” He has also collaborated with other artists such as Cardi B, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Diplo. In 2020, Lil Nas X came out as gay in a tweet posted on World Pride Day. He is believed to be the first openly gay hip hop artist to achieve mainstream success.

Lizzo

Lizzo’s music often focuses on body positivity and self-love. She has been praised for her recent single, “Truth Hurts,” which has become a viral sensation on TikTok.

R&B

R&B artists are experimenting with new sounds and styles, giving fans a fresh take on the genre. The biggest names in the industry are putting out chart-topping hits, and up-and-coming artists are making a name for themselves. There’s a lot to be excited about in the world of R&B music right now.

Khalid

Khalid Donnel Robinson (born February 11, 1998), simply known as Khalid, is an American singer and songwriter. He is signed to Right Hand Music Group and RCA Records. His debut single, “Location”, was released in July 2016 and peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and was later certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His debut studio album, American Teen, was released on March 3, 2017. The album received positive reviews from music critics and debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 chart.

H.E.R.

There’s no question that 2020 has been a game-changer for the music industry, but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been any new music to get us through these tough times. In fact, some of the best music of the year has come from the R&B genre.

One artist who has been killing it lately is H.E.R. She released her second studio album, “H.E.R.,” back in June and it quickly shot to the top of the charts. The album is a masterclass in soulful R&B and includes the hit single “Hard Place.” If you’re looking for something to soothe your soul, H.E.R. is your girl.

Another artist who has been making waves in the R&B world is SZA. Her latest album, “Ctrl,” was released in 2017, but she’s been keeping busy with a series of high-profile features, including on Kendrick Lamar’s “All The Stars” and Cardi B’s “I Do.” She also just dropped a new single, “Hit Different,” which is sure to get Radio 1 airtime in the UK.
