Outkast

Formed in 1992, Outkast is an American hip hop duo from Atlanta, Georgia, consisting of André 3000 and Big Boi. They are often cited as one of the greatest and most influential groups in the history of hip hop. Goodie Mob

Jermaine Dupri

Musician and record producer Jermaine Dupri was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on September 23, 1972. When he was eleven years old, his family moved to Atlanta. There, he discovered hip hop and rap music. He soon began making his own beats and rhymes. In 1987, Dupri formed the rap group Kriss Kross with two school friends, Chris Kelly and Chris Smith. The group became famous for their unique style of dressing “backwards”—wearing their clothes backwards or inside out. Their debut album, Totally Krossed Out (1992), went multi-platinum.

Dupri went on to produce hits for a number of other artists, including Alicia Keys, Usher, Mariah Carey, and Justin Bieber. He has also worked as a DJ and television personality. In 2009, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The Black Lips

The Black Lips are an American rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. The group consists of Cole Alexander, Jared Swilley, Jack Hines, and Joe Bradley. Since forming in 1999, they have released seven studio albums and one live album. Their eighth studio album, Satan’s Graffiti or God’s Art?, is set to be released on April 19, 2019.

The Black Lips began as a garage punk band in Georgia. In 2001, they self-released their first album, The Black Lips!, which was followed by the EP Laughing Dog (2002). After signing with Bomp! Records, they released their second album, We Did Not Know the Forest Spirit Made the Flowers Grow (2004). This was followed by their third album, GoodBadNotEvil (2007), which was their first album to be released on a major label (Vice Records).

In 2009, the band released their fourth studio album, 200 Million Thousand. This was followed by their fifth album, Arabia Mountain (2011), which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package. Their sixth album, Underneath the Rainbow, was released in 2014 on VICE Records. In 2017, the band released their seventh studio album,. Deerhunter

Deerhunter is an American rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, founded in 2001 by lead singer-songwriter and guitarist Bradford Cox. The band’s current lineup includes Cox, Moses Archuleta, Lockett Pundt, Josh McKay, and Javier Morales.

The band’s first album, Turn It Up Faggot (2005), was co-produced by Deerhunter and Gordon Zacharias. The album’s title refers to an incident in which Cox was called a “faggot” while performing. Though the name of the album caused some controversy, it helped the band gain attention.

The band’s second album, Cryptograms (2007), was released to critical acclaim. The album was included in Pitchfork Media’s Top 50 Albums of 2007 list. Deerhunter’s third album, Microcastle (2008), was also well-received by critics. Formed in 1992 by Will Cullen Hart and Bill Doss, The Olivia Tremor Control was a true collective effort, featuring a rotating cast of musicians and artists who all contributed to the band’s ever-evolving sound. Over the course of their career, The Olivia Tremor Control released three full-length albums, dozens of singles and EPs, and countless compilation appearances. Their 1995 debut album, ‘Dusk at Cubist Castle’, is considered by many to be a classic of the American indie rock canon.

After disbanding in 2000, The Olivia Tremor Control reunited for a series of reunion shows in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, they released a new album ‘Black Foliage: Animation Music Volume 1’, which was their first new material in over 12 years. The Olivia Tremor Control are currently working on new material for a forthcoming album.
