It’s that time of year again. Time to look back at the past twelve months and reflect on what we’ve accomplished. We’ve had some great times and some tough times, but through it all, music has been there for us. It’s been our constant companion, our source of comfort and our light in the darkness.

Now, as we move into a new year, it’s time to look back at the music that got us through the past twelve months. These are the songs that lifted us up, that made us dance, that helped us forget our troubles for just a little while. These are the songs that we’ll remember 2015 by.

“Trap Queen” by Fetty Wap

“Trap Queen” is a song by American rapper Fetty Wap from his self-titled debut album (2015). The song peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 in May 2015. The song was eventually certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

“Hotline Bling” by Drake

“Hotline Bling” is a song recorded by Canadian rapper Drake, which serves as the lead single from his fourth studio album Views. The song was released on July 31, 2015, through Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records, and Republic Records.

The song is written in the key of G♯ minor and has a moderate tempo of 105 beats per minute. The vocal range in the song spans from the low note of E♭3 to the high note of C5. “Hotline Bling” peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Drake’s first top-ten single as lead artist in that country and his fourth overall. It also became his first number-one single on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

It was released on June 30, 2015, as the fifth single from his second studio album, Dreams Worth More Than Money. The song peaked at number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Internationally, the song peaked at number one in New Zealand and number six in Australia.

“Watch Me” is a song by American rapper Silentó, released on April 11, 2015. The song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Silentó’s highest-charting single to date.

“Where Are Ü Now” by Skrillex and Diplo with Justin Bieber

“Where Are Ü Now” is a song produced by Jack Ü, a collaborative project between American EDM producers Skrillex and Diplo. The song was released as a single on February 27, 2015, and features vocals from Canadian singer Justin Bieber. “Where Are Ü Now” peaked at number 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The song received positive reviews from music critics, who praised its composition and Bieber’s vocal performance. The song won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. The music video was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

It peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Major Lazer’s highest-charting single in that country. The song reached number one in seventeen other countries including Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Norway and Sweden.

A music video for the song was shot in ND Studios Karjat situated near Mumbai and directed by Tim Erem. The video features MØ dancing in front of numerous landmarks in India including Delhi’s Lotus Temple and Mumbai’s Bandra Worli Sea Link as well as Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park in Jodhpur. Upon its release, the music video quickly achieved success on YouTube; it has been viewed over 1.3 billion times on the site as of August 2019.

In October 2015, “Lean On” was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 58th Grammy Awards but lost to Skrillex and Diplo’s “Where Are Ü Now”. In December 2015, Billboard ranked “Lean On” as the fourth best dance/electronic song of 2015 (and 50th overall) on their Year-End list.

As of March 2016, the video has over 461 million views on YouTube.

“See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth

“See You Again” is a song recorded by American rapper Wiz Khalifa, featuring American singer Charlie Puth. The track was commissioned for the soundtrack of the 2015 film Furious 7 as a tribute to actor Paul Walker, who died in a single-vehicle crash on November 30, 2013. The artists co-wrote the song with its co-producers, DJ Frank E and Andrew Cedar. “See You Again” is a hip hop and pop-rap ballad. Khalifa was recruited to write and record “See You Again” to play over the film’s emotional final montage, which pays tribute to Walker. Initially reluctant because of the timing, Puth ultimately accepted the offer. In an interview with Billboard magazine, Puth recalled that his manager messaged him about appearing on the track: “”Hey kid – turn on your TV right now.”” Puth then saw a clip from Furious 7 on ABC’s Good Morning America which featured his voice over footage of Walker’s character Brian O’Conner driving. Inspired by hearing his own voice while watching the scene, Puth recorded it following an emotional outburst in which he cried uncontrollably.”

The song held the record for the most streamed song in a single day on Spotify in the United States until March 2017 when it was surpassed byShape of You by Ed Sheeran. “See You Again” peaked at number one on both Billboard Hot 100 and Rap Songs charts; it also peaked at number two on both Mainstream Top 40 and Radio Songs charts. Internationally, the song topped charts in 19 countries including Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand and Sweden; it peaked at number two in Norway and Switzerland.”

“Bitch Better Have My Money” by Rihanna

“Bitch Better Have My Money” is a song recorded by Barbadian singer Rihanna for her eighth studio album, Anti (2016). The song was released on March 26, 2015, through Westbury Road and Roc Nation as the second single from the album. “Bitch Better Have My Money” peaked at number 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100 andnumber two on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Internationally, the song peaked at number one in Canada and Sweden, and reached the top ten in Australia, Denmark, France, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
