The Paper Kites

The Paper Kites are an indie folk band from Melbourne, Australia. The band consists of Sam Bentley, Christina Lacy, David Powys, Sam Rasmussen, and Josh Bentley. The band’s sound has been described as “lo-fi indie folk with a tinge of Americana.”

The Paper Kites have released three studio albums: States (2012), twelvefour (2015), and On the Train Ride Home (2017). The band has toured extensively in Australia, Europe, and the United States.

The Head and the Heart

The Head and the Heart is an indie folk band from Seattle, Washington, formed in the summer of 2009. The band is composed of Josiah Johnson (vocals, guitar, percussion), Charity Rose Thielen (vocals, violin, guitar), Jonathan Russell (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Chris Zasche (bass), Tyler Williams (drums), and Matt Gervais (keyboard). They self-released their debut album, The Head and the Heart, in 2010.

The group’s sound has been compared to that of Fleet Foxes and Arcade Fire. Their first two singles, “Rivers and Roads” and “Down in the Valley”, both charted on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart in 2011. In April 2014, they signed to Warner Bros. Records and released their second album, Let’s Be Still. Their third album Signs of Light was released on September 9, 2016.

Of Monsters and Men

Of Monsters and Men is an indie folk band which formed in 2010 in Iceland. The members are lead singer and guitarist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, singer-songwriter and guitarist Ragnar þórhallsson, drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson, lead guitarist Brynjar Leifsson, and bassist Kristján Vilbergsson. The band’s 2011 debut album My Head Is an Animal, has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. It was followed by Beneath the Skin, which was released in 2015 and peaked at No. 3 in the US and No. 2 in the UK. Of Monsters and Men has won several awards, including the European Border Breakers Award from 2012.

Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons is a British indie folk band from London, formed in 2007. The band consists of Marcus Mumford (lead vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums), Ben Lovett (keyboards, backing vocals), Winston Marshall (banjo, electric guitar, backing vocals) and Ted Dwane (bass guitar, double bass, backing vocals). Mumford & Sons have released three studio albums: Sigh No More (2010), Babel (2012) and Wilder Mind (2015). The band has also issued two live albums: Live at Shepherds Bush Empire (2011) and The Road to Red Rocks (2016).

Mumford & Sons were nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and won the Grammy Award for Best British Album at the 2013 ceremony. They also won the Brit Award for Best British Group in 2013.

The Road to Red Rocks was recorded during the band’s 2015 tour of North America in support of Wilder Mind. The album was released on 11 November 2016 on vinyl and digital formats.
