Brooks & Dunn are an American country music duo consisting of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, both vocalists and songwriters. The duo was founded in 1990 through the suggestion of Tim DuBois. Before the foundation, both members were solo recording artists. Throughout the duo’s career, they have released eleven studio albums, one compilation album and two greatest hits albums. The duo’s first album, Brand New Man (1991), was their most commercially successful album; it was certified 6× Multi-Platinum by the RIAA in 1997 and sold over six million copies in the United States. All of their studio albums have received Platinum certification or higher by the RIAA.

Dwight Yoakam

Dwight Yoakam is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and actor, known for his pioneering style of country music. He has recorded 19 albums since 1986, and has released more than 50 singles. Yoakam’s musical style is based on traditional honky tonk and country western music, but with a modern twist. He often uses alternative tunings on his guitar and incorporates elements of rock and punk into his Hank Williams-inspired sound. His approach has earned him the nickname “The Hillbilly Elvis.”

Yoakam was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He began his career in Los Angeles in the 1980s, playing clubs like the Palomino and the Palms. He rose to prominence with the release of his debut album Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc. in 1986. The album’s lead single “Honky Tonk Man” reached number one on the Billboard Country charts, and helped to launch Yoakam’s career.

George Harvey Strait Sr. was born on May 18, 1952, in Poteet, Texas, to John Byron Strait Sr. and Doris Jean Couser. He grew up in Pearsall, Texas, and attended Pearsall High School, where he played basketball and baseball. After graduating from high school in 1970, he attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. He dropped out of college after one semester to help his dad run his family’s chili business. In 1976, Strait joined the Ace in the Hole Band
while working at the California Mid-State Fair. The band later released several successful albums including “Strait Country” (1981) and “Holding My Own” (1982). In 1983, Strait signed a recording contract with MCA Records and released his debut album “Right or Wrong”. The album’s fourth single “Let’s Fall to Pieces Together” became his first number one hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. His next album “Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind” was released in 1984 and produced three more number one singles.

In October 2014, Brooks & Dunn announced they would reunite and embark on a reunion tour in 2015. They released their first album in five years and their first single in six years, “My Maria”. In May 2015, they released the single “Reboot”, which hit number one on the Country Airplay chart in September 2015. Dunneryith wife Janine announced their separation in August 2009.
