The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) is a public research university in Santa Barbara, California. It is one of the 10 campuses of the University of California system. Tracing its roots back to 1891 as an independent teachers’ college, UCSB joined the University of California system in 1944 and is the third-oldest general-education campus in the system.

UCSB offers bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and doctoral degrees in more than 200 areas of study, from anthropology and feminist studies to mechanical engineering and materials science. The Santa Barbara Symphony was founded in 1953 by conductor Heilgard Shaw with a mission to bring world-class symphonic music to the people of Santa Barbara. Today, the Santa Barbara Symphony is led by Maestro Nir Kabaretti and is widely recognized as one of America’s finest regional orchestras.

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Santa Barbara, California, the Symphony performs more than 50 concerts each year, reaching an annual audience of over 100,000 people. The majority of these concerts take place at The Granada Theatre, one of Santa Barbara’s most iconic and treasured landmarks.
