The company is dedicated to providing world-class opera experiences to audiences of all ages through the production of musically and artistically excellent opera and related programming.

The Janiec Opera Company (JOC) at the Brevard Music Center is an opportunity for young opera singers to gain important experience in a professional setting. Each summer, the JOC casts eight principal roles and several chorus roles from a highly competitive international application process. These artists rehearse and perform two fully-staged operas during the BMC season under the direction of acclaimed stage director James Marvel and music director Willaim Pepicello. The JOC provides these young opera singers with invaluable experience that will help them as they pursue careers in opera.
