Best Pop Solo Performance
The best pop solo performance at the Latin American Music Awards went to ROSALÍA for her track “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi”. This is ROSALÍA’s second consecutive win in this category, having previously won for “Malamente” in 2019.
ROSALÍA beat out tough competition from some of Latin music’s biggest stars, including Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Ozuna, and Selena Gomez. Selena Gomez was nominated for her track “De Una Vez”, which was released as part of her album “Rare”.
This is Gomez’s first-ever Latin American Music Award nomination. She has previously won two American Music Awards and one Billboard Music Award.
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
This year’s Latin American Music Awards (AMAs) were full of exciting musical performances. From chart-topping hits to new fan favorites, there was something for everyone. Here are the best pop duo/group performances from the show.
First up is Uruguayan singer-songwriter Sebastián Yatra with his hit song “Paradise.” Yatra was joined on stage by Colombian reggaeton artist Greeicy, who also appears on the track. The two gave a sultry performance that had the crowd singing along.
Next is Colombian reggaeton group Bomba Estéreo with their song “To My Love (Tainy Remix).” The group was joined on stage by Cuban singer DaniLeigh, who is featured on the remix. The performance was full of energy and got the crowd moving.
Last but not least is Mexican pop group Reik with their song “Mi Religión.” The group gave a emotional performance of the song, which is about staying true to oneself.

Best Latin Pop Album
The Latin Grammy Awards are awarded annually by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in the United States. A Latin Grammy Award is an accolade by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences to recognize outstanding achievement in the Latin music industry. The award is given in several categories, including: General Field (for all general/vocal genres), Pop Field, Urban Field, Rock Field, Alternative Field, Flamenco Field, Instrumental Field, Tejano Field, Norteño Field, and Banda Field.
This year’s show featured many great performances, but here are our picks for the best of the best.
Best Latin Pop Album:
-“YHLQMDLG” by Bad Bunny
Bad Bunny took home the award for Best Latin Pop Album at this year’s show for his album “YHLQMDLG.” The album was released in February of 2020 and features the singles “Dakiti,” “Yo Perreo Sola,” and “Viene y Va.”
Best Urban Music Album:
-“Eterno Agosto” by Anuel AA
Anuel AA won the award for Best Urban Music Album at this year’s show for his album “Eterno Agosto.” The album was released in August of 2020 and features the singles “China,” “Keii,” and “Reggaetonera.”
Best Alternative Music Album:
-“Sueños Líquidos” by Bomba Estéreo
Bomba Estéreo won the award for Best Alternative Music Album at this year’s show for their album “Sueños Líquidos.” The album was released in September of 2020 and features the singles “To My Love,” “Fuego,” and “Déjame Amarte.”
Best Urban Fusion/Performance
This year’s Latin American Music Awards featured some of the biggest names in Latin music, and the urban fusion/performance category was no exception. From reggaeton superstars to rising rappers, the best urban fusion/performance category was packed with incredible talent.
The winner of the best urban fusion/performance category was J Balvin, who gave an electrifying performance of his hit single “Mi Gente.” He was joined on stage by Willy William and Beyoncé, who both appeared on the remix of the song. The trio brought the house down with their high-energy dance moves and infectious charisma.
Other standout performances in the best urban fusion/performance category included Ozuna’s emotionally charged medley of “No Quiere Enamorarse” and “Tu Foto,” as well as Bad Bunny’s show-stopping set featuring trap-infused versions of his hits “Mayores” and “Sensualidad.”
With so many amazing performances, it was hard to choose a winner, but J Balvin’s energetic performance ultimately took home the prize.
Best Regional Mexican Music Album (including Tejano)
The Best Regional Mexican Music Album (including Tejano) category is for vocal or instrumental albums containing at least 51% of new recordings in the Mexican musical styles of Norteño, Banda, Duranguense, Ranchera, Mariachi, Mexican cumbia, Grupera, new creations inspired by traditional regional Mexican music or any subgenre thereof.
This category was created to recognize the growing popularity of regional Mexican music and to acknowledge the contributions of Tejano music to this genre. The first award in this category was presented at the 9th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2008.
Best Tropical Latin Album
The 2021 Best Latin American Music Awards air live on Thursday (Oct. 21) at 8PM ET on Telemundo.
This year’s show will feature performances by some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Bad Bunny, Camilo, J Balvin, Ozuna, Ricky Martin and more.

Best American Roots Performance
The Best Latin American Music Awards were held on Thursday night (April 15), and while the show looked a bit different due to the pandemic — it was held virtually with no audience — the music was as lively as ever.
Nominees in the Best American Roots Performance category represent some of the best in traditional and contemporary roots music, and this year’s performances did not disappoint.
Here are the five Best American Roots Performance nominees and their performances at the 2021 Latin American Music Awards:
Yola – “Ride Out in the Country”
The British singer-songwriter brought her country-soul sound to life with a performance of her single “Ride Out in the Country.” Yola’s vocals were smooth and effortless as she sang about wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. She was joined by a full band, which added even more depth to her sound.
The War and Treaty – “Are You Ready to Love Me?”
Husband-and-wife duo Michael and Tanya Trotter brought the fire with their performance of “Are You Ready to Love Me?” The soulful ballad showed off the pair’s powerful vocal chops, which they used to sing about fighting for love. They were joined by a full band, which included a horns section that added some extra flavor to their performance.
Brandi Carlile – “The Joke”
Carlile delivered an emotional performance of her anthemic single “The Joke.” Her soaring vocals filled the arena as she sang about overcoming adversity and finding strength in vulnerability. The powerful performance left viewers speechless, proving that Carlile is one of the best vocalists in the business.
Mavis Staples – “We Get By”
Staples brought her signature brand of gospel-tinged soul to life with a performance of her single “We Get By.” The veteran singer sounded as good as ever as she sang about hope and resilience. She was joined by a full band, which added even more power to her performance.

The Blues Foundation announced the winners of the 37th Annual Blues Music Awards, which were presented virtually on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

Contemporary blues is a genre of modern popular music which is directly derived from and related to traditional blues music. The term “contemporary blues” is used to describe blues-influenced pop, rock, or soul music performed by artists who either began their careers after the demise of classic blues or who were influenced by more recent styles.
The Best Latin American Music Awards are an annual award ceremony presented by the Latin Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievement in the Latin music industry. The ceremony was first held in 2015 and is broadcast live on Telemundo.

Best Folk Album: Natalia Lafourcade, Un Canto por México, Vol. 1
Few artists have been able to capture the pain and hope of Mexico City like Natalia Lafourcade. The veteran singer delivered an emotional medley of “La Llorona,” “Hasta la Raíz” and “En el 2000,” which told the story of a woman who is left behind by her lover. The performance was a moment of reckoning for Lafourcade, who has been outspoken about her love for her country and its people throughout her career.
Best Regional Roots Music Album
The Regional Roots Music Album award is given to the album of the year in the Latin American music genre. This award is similar to the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album, but it is specifically for albums in the Regional Roots music genre. This genre includes music from Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.
