Artist of the Year
The “Artist of the Year” award is given to the overall artist who had the best year both creatively and commercially. This is not necessarily the artist who released the best album, but instead reflects an artist’s all-around success throughout the eligibility period. To be eligible, an artist must have released a minimum of two albums (not including compilations or reissues) or one album and three singles (not including compilations) during the eligibility period.
Album of the Year
In order to be eligible for the award, albums must have been released commercially in the United States between October 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020. Albums must have a Latin artist as the main credited artist, and at least 51% of the album’s tracks must be in Spanish or Portuguese. Albums that are available exclusively on digital platforms or that have been released physically with a card but no digital version are not eligible for this award.
Song of the Year
Song of the Year is awarded to the performing artist, songwriter and producer(s) of the track.
