The Best

The Latin music world gathered in Las Vegas this past week for the Latin Billboards Music Awards. The show was full of amazing moments, from Jennifer Lopez’s electrifying performance to Ozuna’s emotional tribute to his late friend XXXTentacion. But, as always, there were a few misses as well. Here’s a look at the best and worst moments of the evening.

J. Balvin

This reggaeton superstar was one of the big winners at the Latin Billboards Music Awards, taking home five trophies, including Top Latin Album for his record “Vibras.” He also won awards for Top Male Artist, Top Latin Song, Top Radio Song and Top Selling Album.

Bad Bunny

BAD BUNNY was one of the big winners at last night’s Latin Billboards Music Awards, taking home five awards, including Top Latin Album and Top Male Artist. But the rapper’s wins were overshadowed by his wardrobe choice: a tracksuit emblazoned with a photo of Jeffree Star, the controversial YouTuber and makeup mogul.

Many fans were quick to point out that Star has been accused of racism and using blackface in the past; Bad Bunny has not addressed the backlash directly, but he did post a series of tweets last night that seemed to be referencing the situation. “Respect is earned, not given,” he wrote in one. “Silence is also an answer.”

Ozuna

Ozuna led the list of nominees with 21 nods. The 25-year-old was born Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2016, he released his first album, Odisea, which went triple platinum in the United States and won Album of the Year at the Latin Billboard Music Awards. His follow-up album, Aura, was released in 2018 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

Some of Ozuna’s most popular songs include “Te Boté,” “Se Preparó,” and “El Farsante.” He has collaborated with a number of artists, including Cardi B, Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, and Lil Wayne.

At the 2019 Latin Billboard Music Awards, Ozuna took home nine awards, including Top Latin Album for Aura and Top Latin Artist.

The Worst

It was a night to remember. The Latin Billboards Music Awards 2019 had some of the biggest names in music in attendance. However, there were also a few moments that left us cringing. Let’s take a look at the worst moments of the night.

Anuel AA

Anuel AA was one of the worst-dressed celebrities at the Latin Billboards Music Awards 2019. He wore a loud, printed bomber jacket with matching pants and sneakers. The outfit was too busy and not flattering at all.

Karol G

Karol G was one of the biggest winners at the Latin Billboard Music Awards, taking home eight awards. But her red carpet look was one of the worst of the night. The Colombian singer wore a sparkly green dress with a plunging neckline that was held together with string.

Lali

Lali was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a pop singer, songwriter, dancer and actress.

At the 2019 Latin Billboard Music Awards, Lali was nominated for five awards, including Artist of the Year and Best New Artist.

Sadly, Lali did not win any of her five nominations. In fact, she was one of the worst-dressed celebrities at the event. Her sequined dress was ill-fitting and her makeup was overdone.

Despite her fashion fail, Lali still had a great time at the awards show. She was seen dancing and singing along with other attendees.
