J Balvin – “Mi Gente”

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee – “Despacito”

“Despacito” is a reggaeton and Latin pop song composed in common time (4 4 time) with a length of three minutes and forty-seven seconds. The song has two verses, one sung by Luis Fonsi and the other by Daddy Yankee. “Despacito” is Spanish for “Slowly”. The lyrics discuss how a potential love interest has consumed Fonsi’s thoughts and feelings, to the point that he wants to take things slowly with her (“para hacerte el amor bien”).

The song was released on January 13th, 2017, and topped the charts in more than 30 countries. In June 2017, the Official Charts Company announced that “Despacito” had become the UK’s biggest-selling single of all time. The song has also been certified multi-platinum in Australia, Canada, Italy and Spain.

Shakira – “Me Enamoré”

With her new single, “Me Enamoré,” Shakira cements her return to form. The songwriter and producer of the track, Mario Domm, is best known as the frontman of the Mexican pop-rock band Camila. “Me Enamoré” is a classic Shakira love song, with a Latin twist. The Colombian singer’s voice is at its most seductive as she sings about falling in love again (“I fell in love/ I fell in love/ Oh, how I fell in love”). The music video, which was shot in Barcelona, is a fun and colorful visual that matches the energy of the track.
