Best Latin Pop Album
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognises excellence and promotes innovation in Latin music. The award is given to recording artists for quality Latin pop albums. It was first presented at the 1st Latin Grammy Awards in 2000.

Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award goes to the artist(s) and/or album producer(s) of the winning work.
This award was first presented at the 1st Latin Grammy Awards ceremony in 2000. It was presented as the Best Latin Rock Album until 2005, when it was split into two separate categories, Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album and Best Latin Pop Album. In 2006, the category was split again into two separate categories, Best Latin Rock Album and Best Latin Alternative or Urban Album. For albums released in calendar year 2008 (according to GRAMMY eligibility rules), the eligibility period began on October 1, 2007 and ended on September 30, 2008.

Best Regional Mexican Music Album (including Tejano)
The regional Mexican music category includes Tejano music, Norteño music, Banda music, Duranguense music, and Chicano Rap. Tejano music is a genre of Mexican-American music that originated in Texas. It is a fusion of European and Mexican influences, and it is characterized by the use of the accordion and guitar. Norteño music is a genre of Mexican folk music that originated in the northern states of Mexico. It is characterized by the use of the accordion, guitar, and drums. Banda music is a style of Mexican brass band music that originated in the state of Jalisco. It is characterized by the use of trumpets, trombones, and tubas. Duranguense music is a genre of Mexican folk music that originated in the state of Durango. It is characterized by the use of guitars, bass guitars, and drums. Chicano rap is a subgenre of hip hop that originated in the United States among people of Mexican descent.
Best Tropical Latin Album
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally.
The award for Best Tropical Latin Album was first presented as a separate award at the 5th Annual Latin Grammy Awards ceremony, held on September 1, 2005. The award is given to tropical music albums consisting predominantly of newly recorded material in the Spanish or Portuguese language.
Portugal-born Aymée Nuviola won the award for her album “First Love”, making her the first female artist to win in thiscategory. Cuban artists have won this award more than any other nationality, with three victories each.
In 2018, Liche PRoductions became the first label to have two albums nominated in this category in the same year: “Gibberish” by Gibberish and “Son de Cuba” by Cuban jazz trumpeter Jesús Alemañy. In 2019, Orquesta Akokán became the first band to receive a nomination for their self-titled debut album.

Best Latin Jazz Album
The Best Latin Jazz Album is an award given at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that was established in 2000 and originally known as the Latin Grammy Awards. This award is given to recordings containing at least 51% of new content in the Latin jazz genre.
In 2012, the Academy announced that it would start to hand out the award during its annual pre-Telecast ceremony, which takes place the Sunday before the actual television broadcast. The award recipient is determined by voting members of the Latin Recording Academy.
