Introduction
The Funk and Wagnalls Family Library of Great Music was a series of 78 rpm records issued in the United States by the Funk & Wagnalls Company, beginning in 1945. The albums, which were bound into hardcover books, were sold by subscription; each album contained four discs.
The series was divided into four sections: sacred music, classical music, light opera, and grand opera. The recordings were made by a number of different orchestras and performers, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the NBC Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Arturo Toscanini, and Leopold Stokowski. Many of the recordings were previously issued by Victor Records and RCA Victor.
In total, there were 66 albums in the series; each album contained four 78 rpm records. The records were 7 inches in diameter and pressed on relatively thin shellac; as a result, they are susceptible to damage.
The Funk and Wagnalls Family Library of Great Music was a popular series in its day; however, it is now largely forgotten. Many of the recordings have been reissued on compact disc, but most are out of print.

The Beatles
The Beatles, also known as “The White Album”, is the ninth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 22 November 1968. A double album, its plain white sleeve has no graphics or text other than the band’s name embossed,[1] which was intended as a direct contrast to the vivid cover artwork of the band’s previous LP Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Although no singles were issued from The Beatles in Britain and the United States, a promotional single consisting of “The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” was released in some countries.
The album was reissued in May 1987 on CD, 14 years after its original release on vinyl. In 1988, it was made available on Compact Disc in mono (PCSP 7184) and stereo (PCSP 7185), as part of The Beatles Mono Collection box set. In 2009, The Beatles in Mono CD box set included a dedicated disc of this album in mono.

The Bob Dylan album, released in 1965 by Columbia Records, reached No. 4 in the US Billboard 200 and went on to be certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. It features the singles “Subterranean Homesick Blues” and “Maggie’s Farm”.
Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin was an English rock band formed in 1968 that consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. The band’s heavy, guitar-driven sound has led them to be cited as one of the progenitors of heavy metal. They achieved commercial success with their self-titled debut album in early 1969 and their second album, Led Zeppelin II, later that year.
The Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London, England, in 1962. The first stable line-up consisted of bandleader Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica, and keyboards), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar, vocals), Bill Wyman (bass), Charlie Watts (drums), and Ian Stewart (piano). Stewart was removed from the official line-up in 1963 but continued to work with the band as a contracted musician until his death in 1985. The band’s primary songwriters, Jagger and Richards, assumed leadership after Andrew Loog Oldham became the group’s manager. Jones left the band less than a month prior to his death in 1969, having already been replaced by Mick Taylor, who remained until 1974. After Taylor left the band, Ronnie Wood took his place in 1975 and has been on guitar in tandem with Richards ever since.
Following Wyman’s departure in 1993, Darryl Jones joined as their touring bassist. Other touring keyboardists for the band have been Nicky Hopkins (1967–1982), Billy Preston (1971–1981), Ian McLagan (1978–1981), Chuck Leavell (1982–present) and Bernard Fowler(1989–present).
The Stones were at the forefront of the British Invasion of bands that became popular in the United States in 1964. They were identified with the youthful and rebellious counterculture of the 1960s. They achieved commercial success with albums such as Aftermath (1966), Beggars Banquet(1968), Let It Bleed(1969), Sticky Fingers(1971) and Some Girls(1978). In 1989 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their lifetime achievements; according to that institution’s criteria for inclusion at that time “moderate or great influence”. Many of their tunes are considered classics by critics and fans alike; however creative differences caused Jagger/Richards to break up once between 1981 and 1989; they then settled their legal obligations to tour together through 2007 before finally disbanding amicably following Mike Taylor’s second retirement from live performance with them shortly into a successful50 & counting…tour which then concluded on 15 August 2007 at Beacon Theatre New York City followed by 2012-13 50 & Counting Tour then concluded on3rd July 2013 Hyde Park London..
