I’ll never forget the little girl who taught me about house music. It was the summer of 1989 and I was working at a club in Ibiza. One night, this little girl came up to me and asked me to teach her how to DJ.

I was hesitant at first, but she was so persistent and eager to learn that I eventually relented. And I’m so glad I did, because she ended up being a great student. She not only learned how to DJ

Introduction

I’ll never forget the first time I heard house music. I was eight years old, and my friend Sallie had just put on a record by a DJ named Tony Humphries. The thumping bass, the hypnotic melodies, the ethereal female vocals…I was mesmerized. I had never heard anything like it before.

From that day on, I was hooked on house music. I started buying records and going to clubs, and eventually I became a DJ myself. House music has been a huge part of my life for more than 20 years now, and I still love it as much as ever.

A few months ago, I was chatting with Sallie about our shared love of house music. She told me about a little girl she met at one of her DJ gigs who also loved house music. This girl, whose name is Sasha, is only nine years old, but she already knows more about house music than most adults.

Sasha first got into house music when she was seven years old, after hearing one of her older brother’s friends playing it at a party. She loved the feeling of the music making her body move, and she started asking her brother’s friend to teach her how to DJ. He showed her how to mix two tracks together, and she was hooked.

Since then, Sasha has been learning everything she can about house music. She spends hours scouring YouTube for video tutorials on mixing and scratching (she’s even watched some of my own videos!). She has also started attending local club nights with her parents’ permission, so she can hear DJs play live.

What is house music?

House music is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the Chicago club scene in the early 1980s. The style is characterized by a repetitive four-on-the-floor beat and often features synths, drum machines, and samples.

The little girl who taught me about house music

I remember the first time I heard house music. I was at a club with my friends, and we were all dancing. Then, out of nowhere, this little girl came up to me and asked if I wanted to dance. I said yes, and we started dancing together. It was such a great experience, and I loved the music she was playing. From then on, I was hooked on house music.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the little girl who taught me about House music showed me that there is more to the genre than just the music. She showed me the culture and community that exists around House music and how important it is to be a part of it. I will never forget what she taught me and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from her.
