Tampa Jazz Festivals

Tampa’s Jazz Festivals
Floridians and visitors adore Tampa’s two main jazz festivals. They occur annually in late winter and spring, when the weather is balmy and dry. Many people fly in from countries all over the world to enjoy the gigs.

The Tampa Bay Jazz Festival is one of the most prestigious festivals, and it has been running for close to three decades. It takes place in downtown Tampa, at various nightspots and venues within walking distance of each other. The lineup usually features about a dozen top jazz acts, both contemporary and traditional.

The Gasparilla Music Festival is a relative newcomer on the scene, but it’s become just as popular as its older cousin. Gasparilla takes place on multiple stages in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, right in the heart of downtown Tampa. In addition to a healthy dose of jazz, attendees can enjoy all sorts of other genres including rock, funk, hip hop, blues, and more.
