The Memories

In the summer of 2001, I was entering my sophomore year of high school. It was a carefree time, filled with days spent swimming at the local pool and nights playing music with my friends. We were a group of teenage misfits who bonded over our shared love of punk rock and heavy metal. We’d spend hours in my friend’s garage, banging out covers of our favorite songs by bands like Blink 182 and Offspring.

Those were some of the best times of my life. There was nothing more exhilarating than standing on stage, surrounded by my friends, as we played our hearts out for an audience of screaming fans. We didn’t care that we weren’t playing original music or that we weren’t very good. We just loved being up there, living out our rock star fantasies.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. As we started to grow up and go our separate ways, the band slowly fell apart. We all moved on to different things and lost touch with one another. But every now and then, I like to reminisce about those glory days by listening to Live in San Antonio, a recording of one of our final performances together. Hearing those familiar sounds takes me back to a simpler time when life was nothing but fun and games. Thanks for the memories, guys.
