In this post, we’ll take a look at the music video for “Make It Pop” by the popular artist known as “Pop.” We’ll analyze the video to see what makes it so popular, and to see if there are any lessons we can learn from it.

Introduction

In recent years, the South Korean music industry has made a significant impact on the global music scene with the rise of so-called “K-pop” bands. One such band is the all-female group known as 2NE1. Formed in 2009, 2NE1 is composed of four members: CL, Dara, Bom, and Minzy. The group’s name stands for “New Evolution of the 21st Century” and their debut album, released in 2010, was a huge commercial success.

2NE1’s music video for their song “I Am the Best” is a perfect example of the group’s unique style and innovative approach to visuals. The video was directed by Robert Yonfan and released in 2011. It begins with a close-up shot of one of the band members (CL) staring directly into the camera with a confident expression. This is followed by a series of shots that show the band members dancing and singing in various brightly-colored locations.

The video then cuts to a scene where the band members are sitting on a rooftop overlooking the city. This shots emphasizes the group’s sleek and stylish image. The video ends with the band members dancing in front of a large mirror, which reflects their reflections back at them.

The “I Am the Best” music video is an excellent example of 2NE1’s ability to mix different genres and styles to create something that is truly unique and visually appealing. Their use of color and emphasis on fashion is particularly noteworthy. It is clear that 2NE1 puts a lot of thought into their visuals, and it pays off in terms of creating an engaging and visually-stimulating experience for viewers.

The Music Video

The “Make It Pop” music video is a high-energy, fun-filled visual that promotes the single “Make It Pop” by the group SunDha. The video was released on March 10, 2016, and has since amassed over 15 million views on YouTube. The video is set in a school, and follows a group of friends as they navigate through their everyday lives. The video includes dance sequences, and various special effects that make it an enjoyable watch.

The Concept

When making a music video, there are three important elements that need to be considered in order for the video to be successful: the concept, the track, and the artist.

The concept is the most important element. It’s what will make the video memorable and stand out from other videos in the same genre. The track is important because it needs to be catchy and fit the overall theme of the video. The artist is important because they need to be able to sell the concept and bring the vision to life.

When coming up with a concept for a music video, it’s important to think outside of the box and be creative. A good concept will make use of symbolism and metaphors to convey a deeper meaning. It should also be visually stimulating and have a strong narrative.

The track should compliment the concept and vice versa. The two should complement each other and work together to create a cohesive video. The track should also be catchy and memorable so that it sticks in people’s minds long after they’ve seen the video.

The artist needs to be able to sell the concept and bring the vision to life. They need to have a strong presence on camera and be able to connect with viewers. The artist also needs to have great stage presence so that they can perform well in front of a live audience.

The Execution

The video starts with a establishing shot of the cityscape at night, with a blinding light shining in the center of the frame. This light is revealed to be a spotlight, as we see Jodi (slickly dressed in all black) walking towards it. The first verse begins, as she strutts her down the block. We see quick cuts of Jodi looking sultry and suave in different outfits and locations throughout the city.

The chorus comes in, and we see Jodi now performing on stage in front of a cheering crowd. The next verse begins, and we see more quick cuts of Jodi living her best life- dancing in nightclubs, riding around in fancy cars, etc. The second chorus comes in and we see Jodi back on stage, now with her two bandmates Sun Hi and Corki.

The final verse begins and we see Jodi walking down a hallway backstage, getting ready for her big performance. We hear her thoughts as she walks- she’s nervous but excited, and she knows she’s going to kill it. As she steps out onto the stage for the final chorus, we see all her friends and fans cheering her on from the audience. She nailed it!

The Good

Make It Pop is a Canadian musical comedy television series created by Nick Cannon. The show premiered on Nickelodeon in the United States on April 6, 2015. The series is produced by Canada’s DHX Media.

The show is set at the fictional MacKendrick Prep School, where three girls form a K-pop band and have to learn to work together while following their dreams.

The Good:
-The girl power!
-The diversity!
-The music!

The Bad

It’s not all good when it comes to “Make It Pop.” There are some aspects of the video that are less than great, and unfortunately, they far outweigh the good. First and foremost, the video is incredibly confusing. The plot, such as it is, makes very little sense, and even after multiple viewings, it’s still hard to follow. Secondly, the video is extremely sexist. Almost all of the female characters are portrayed as ditzy and clueless, while the male characters are shown as being smart and capable. This is a damaging stereotype that does a disservice to both men and women. Finally, the video is simply not very well-made. The production values are low, the editing is choppy, and overall it just looks cheap.

The Ugly

The video for Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” is a clear departure from the lighthearted, teen-friendly image he has cultivated over the years. In the video, which was released in October 2015, Bieber is shown dancing around a room full of fully-clothed women while image after image of him frolicking with half-naked women in various states of undress are spliced in. The clear message is that sex sells, and that’s something Bieber is all too happy to exploit.

Despite the fact that he’s now in his 20s, Bieber still comes across as a child in this video. He doesn’t seem to grasp the implications of what he’s doing or the message he’s sending. His casual attitude towards sex and relationships is troubling, and it’s clear that he sees women as nothing more than objects for his own pleasure. This video is a far cry from the wholesome image he presented in his earlier work, and it’s a disappointing turn for someone who was once seen as a role model for young people.

Conclusion

After analyzing the three music videos, it is evident that each artist has a different definition of what it means to “make it pop.” For Justin Bieber, making it pop means to be surrounded by beautiful girls and to have a good time. For Beyonce, making it pop means being fierce and confident while showing off her enviable dance moves. For Taylor Swift, making it pop means to be happy and carefree with your friends.

Despite their different interpretations, all three artists share the common goal of wanting to make their music videos fun and entertaining for their fans. They also want to show off their talents and let their personalities shine through. Ultimately, they all want to “make it pop” in their own unique ways.
