Character Creation
In Maple Story, you can create your own character! You can choose from a variety of different hair styles, colors, and clothes to make your character look unique. You can also choose their starting job class and skill set.

Pick a World – You can choose between the following worlds: Broa, Windia, Khaini, Bellocan, Mardia, Kradia, Yellonde, Demethos, Galicia, El Nido and henesys.
Choose a Character
In MapleStory, your character is who you are in the game. You control your character to fight monsters, interact with other players, complete quests, and much more!
There are six different basic classes in MapleStory: Warrior, Mage, Archer, Thief, Pirate, and Cygnus Knight. Each class has different strengths and weaknesses. Warriors are strong melee attackers with high health points (HP), while mages have strong magical attacks but low HP. Archers have high accuracy and long-range attacks, while thieves excel at close-range combat and have high evasion. Pirates use a variety of skills depending on their weapon type (either guns or cannons), while Cygnus Knights specialize in defending others with their massive shields.
You can choose any of the six basic classes when you create your character. After you reach level 8 with your basic class character, you will be able to choose from one of three specialized jobs for that class. For example, if you start as a Warrior class character, you can choose from the specialized jobs of fighter, page, or spearman once you reach level 8. Each job has its own unique skills and abilities.
You can also choose to create an Explorer character instead of a regular basic class character. Explorer characters start off in their own special job at level 10: Battle Mage (magician-warrior hybrid), Bow Master (archer-thief hybrid), Night Walker (thief-mage hybrid), or Blaze Wizard (magician).
Even though they start at a higher level than regular basic class characters, they do not have access to the specialized classes that the regular basic class characters do.
Name Your Character
Your character’s name is important! Not only will other players see it, but you’ll be saying it a lot. Pick a name that you like and that isn’t offensive. Once you’ve chosen your name, you can’t change it, so choose wisely!
Customize Your Character
Choose from one of six unique classes, each with their own skills, playstyle, and build opportunities. MapleStory allows for incredibly in-depth character customization. You can change everything from your hair color to your weapon type.
In MapleStory, you can pick from a range of races including Humans, Cygnus Knights, Elves, Merrians, and Demons. You can also choose your gender before customizing your physical appearance further with sliders for height and weight. After deciding on your race and gender, it’s time to give your MapleStory character a face.
You can use the premade faces as a starting point or create a completely original face from scratch. The facial customization options are incredibly detailed, giving you full control over things like nose size and shape, eyebrow type and tilt, mouth size and shape, and much more. Once you’re happy with your character’s appearance, it’s time to choose their starting class.
