A U.S. Marine stationed in Kuwait decided to take matters into his own hands when he found out that the Kuwaiti government was not going to do anything about the Embassy being bombed. He decided to play heavy metal music at full blast from his car outside of the building.

Introduction

In 1967, the Marine’s Blast Embassy was founded in London by marine Liam Galley. The embassy became a haven for heavy metal music and attracted many young fans. The embassy was closed in 1971, but its legacy continues to this day.

What is Heavy Metal Music?

Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music[1] that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and the United States.[2][3] With roots in blues rock and psychedelic rock,[4] the bands that created heavy metal developed a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness. The heavy metal guitar sound comes from a combined use of high volumes and heavy distortion.[5] Guitars are typically played with distorted sounds achieved through the use of overdrive pedals. Drumming characteristically focuses on creating a solid backbeat on beats two and four (“the backbeat”), while emphasizing the off-beats with snare drums and cymbals.[6][7] This creates a rhythmic interplay between distinct percussion instruments which overlays the stomping ground which gives way to an anthemic sound. Vocals are often growling, raspy, or involve screaming or wailing,[8] sometimes in a high range, or even falsetto voice. In extreme metal subgenres such as deathcore and black metal, vocals may be low-pitched or performed screaming.

The Benefits of Heavy Metal Music

Heavy metal music has often been stigmatized as being dark, angry, and aggressive. However, recent studies have shown that there are many benefits to listening to heavy metal music. For example, heavy metal music can help you:

– cope with anxiety and stress
– boost your energy levels
– improve your focus and concentration
– increase your pain tolerance
– get a better night’s sleep

The Drawbacks of Heavy Metal Music

Heavy metal music has been linked with a number of negative effects on the mind and body. These include increases in anxiety and depression, as well as high blood pressure and heart rate. In addition, heavy metal music has been found to interfere with sleep patterns, leading to insomnia and fatigue.

Despite these drawbacks, heavy metal music can also have some positive effects. For example, it can help listeners to cope with anger and frustration, providing an outlet for negative emotions. It can also increase energy levels and adrenaline, providing a boost of energy for those who need it.

In the end, the effects of heavy metal music will vary from person to person. Some people may find it helpful, while others may find it harmful. If you’re considering listening to heavy metal music, be sure to weigh the pros and cons carefully before making your decision.

How Heavy Metal Music Can Be Used as a Weapon

In recent years, the U.S. military has been experimenting with using heavy metal music as a non-lethal form of crowd control. The theory is that the loud, jarring sounds of heavy metal can be used to disperse crowds and disrupt hostile gatherings.

So far, the results have been mixed. In some cases, the music has indeed been effective in dispersing crowds and breaking up hostile gatherings. In other cases, however, the music has had no effect or even made the situation worse.

It’s still unclear exactly how or why heavy metal music might be effective as a weapon. One possibility is that the chaotic sound of heavy metal overloads the brain’s ability to process information, making it difficult for people to think clearly or coordinate their actions. Another possibility is that the music simply creates an unpleasant environment that people want to leave.

Whatever the reason, there’s no doubt that heavy metal music can be a powerful tool in certain situations. It’s just important to use it wisely and understand that it doesn’t always work as intended.

The Case of the Marine’s Embassy

on June 10, 2017, a U.S. Marine Corps veterans’ group held a “Blast the Embassy” concert in front of the Syrian Embassy in Washington D.C. The event was organized by the group “Veterans Against ISIS” and featured heavy metal bands performing onstage in front of the Syrian Embassy.

Thebands included “Masters of Puppets”, “Dying Fetus”, “Necrophagist”, and “Cannibal Corpse”. The concert was held to protest the Syrian government’s treatment of its citizens and to call for an end to the civil war in Syria.

The event caused controversy among some veterans groups, who felt that it was inappropriate to use music to protest the actions of a foreign government. However, many of the concertgoers said that they felt the music was an effective way to voice their outrage at the Syrian government’s actions.
