Music Band is a five person group that plays a style of music known as “heavy metal.” Heavy metal is a type of rock music that is characterized by its aggressive sound and lyrics. Music Band’s music is meant to be a form of therapy for its listeners, and the band members believe that their music can help troubled teens and young adults turn their lives around.

The Music

Music has always been a powerful tool to bring people together. It has the ability to transcend barriers and bring people from all walks of life together in a common experience. Music is a language that everyone can understand, regardless of where they come from or what language they speak.

The Lyrics

Following Hawkins’ return to the United States in 1964 with a new backing band—including Hendrix on lead guitar for a short time—the Hawks were hired by Bob Dylan as his backing band for his U.S. tours in 1965 and 1966. Dylan was enthralled by their sound and used them as his opening act on his world tour in 1966. After the tour ended, Helm returned to Arkansas; Danko and Manuel remained with Dylan while Robertson continued to playsession musician in New York City.

The group achieved its greatest success between 1967 and 1976 with a series of hit songs , including “The Weight” , “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” , “Up On Cripple Creek” ,and “King Harvest ” ; and acclaimed albums such as Music From Big Pink (1968) and Stage Fright (1970) . The original configuration of the Band ended its touring career in 1976 with an elaborate farewell concert featuring guest appearances by Eric Clapton , Neil Young , Van Morrison and Bob Dylan . This concert was immortalized in Martin Scorsese ‘s film The Last Waltz (1978) .

After the original group disbanded , Robbie Robertson continued to work with various members on solo projects ; Richard Manuel committed suicide in 1986; Rick Danko died of heart failure due to complications from drug addiction in 1999 ; and Levon Helm battled throat cancer from 1998 until his death from it in 2012 .

The Band toured North America extensively throughout 1969–1971 to support both albums but were plagued by drug problems that culminated in keyboardist/singer Richard Manuel’s heroin overdose in 1971.
