The Indie Rock Charts are the best way to discover new music and keep up with the latest trends in the indie rock scene. These charts are compiled from data collected by a variety of sources, including album sales, radio airplay, streaming activity, and online votes from fans.

The Indie Rock Charts are updated on a weekly basis, so be sure to check back often to see which artists are making waves in the scene. Below you’ll find a list of the most recent chart-toppers, as well as some other notable releases from the past few weeks.

The cream of the crop

And then there were ten. In a year of unprecedented abundance, our music critics compiled a list of the 100 best albums of 2019–2020. We asked them to consider the traditional album format in all its glory: full-length LP or CD releases, whether sold commercially or distributed independently. EP’s and mixtapes were also eligible, so long as they were at least four songs in length and feel like complete works unto themselves. This wasn’t an easy task, but we think they’ve come up with a pretty definitive list that any fan of music can enjoy.

As always, we encourage you to listen to as much music as you can, and to support the artists who make it by buying their records and attending their shows. With that said, here are the 100 best albums of 2019–2020, according to our critics.

Arcade Fire
form Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Arcade Fire is one of the most popular and acclaimed indie rock bands of the past decade. Their debut album, Funeral, was hailed as a modern classic, and they’ve only continued to get better with each subsequent release. If you’re looking for an entry point into their discography, start with their most recent album, Everything Now.

The National
from Cincinnati, Ohio, The National is a perennially popular indie rock band that has been critical darling since their 2001 debut album, Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers. They’re known for their dark and introspective lyrics, and their live shows are legendary. If you’re new to their music, start with their 2010 album High Violet.

Fleet Foxes
from Seattle, Washington, Fleet Foxes was one of the leading lights of the American folk-rock revival of the early 2000s. Their debut album was an instant classic, and they followed it up with another masterpiece in 2011. If you want to check them out ,start with their self-titled debut album from 2008.

Vampire Weekend
from New York City , Vampire Weekend exploded onto the scene in 2008 with their modern take on Afrobeat and other international sounds . They’re one of the most successful indie rock bands of the past decade ,and they show no signs of slowing down .
