The best rock music festivals to check out this year

As the weather gets warmer, thoughts naturally turn to spending lazy days outdoors listening to music. If you’re a fan of rock music, there are some great festivals coming up that are definitely worth checking out. Here are four of the best.

This huge annual festival takes place at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England, and features some of the biggest names in rock music. This year’s headliners include Kiss, Iron Maiden, and System of a Down, as well as dozens of other great bands. If you’re in the UK or Europe, this is definitely one festival you won’t want to miss.

Hellfest Open Air Festival
If you’re looking for a rock festival with a more metal edge, Hellfest Open Air Festival in Clisson, France is definitely worth checking out. This year’s lineup includes big names like Judas Priest, Whitesnake, and Megadeth, as well as many more. Hellfest is definitely one of the biggest and best metal festivals in Europe.

Rock am Ring and Rock im Park
These two sister festivals take place simultaneously at different locations – Rock am Ring takes place at the Nürburgring racetrack in Nürburg, Germany while Rock im Park takes place at Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg, Germany. This year’s lineup includes Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Die Toten Hosen. If you’re anywhere near Germany in early June, these two festivals are definitely worth checking out.

Wacken Open Air
This massive open-air metal music festival takes place every August in Wacken, Germany. With over 80 stages and thousands of bands performing over four days, Wacken Open Air is definitely one of the biggest and best metal festivals in the world. This year’s lineup includes Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priestess, and Slayer – if you love metal music this is definitely a festival you won’t want to miss.
