The 1975

The 1975 is an English rock band from Manchester. The group consists of lead vocalist Matthew Healy, guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. The band’s debut album, The 1975, was released in September 2013 and peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Their second album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It, was released in February 2016 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States.

“The Sound”

The 1975’s new album “The Sound” is a refreshing take on indie rock music. With a mix of catchy hooks and insightful lyrics, the album is sure to please fans of all ages. From the anthemic opener “The 1975” to the poppy “Love Me”, the album is a fun and enjoyable listen from start to finish.

“Somebody Else”

“Somebody Else” is a song by English rock band The 1975, released as the sixth single from their self-titled debut album on 9 September 2013. The song peaked at number 10 on the UK Singles Chart.

The song was written by band frontman Matthew Healy and produced by Mike Crossey. It was inspired by Healy’s experience of heartbreak and examines the idea of self-destructive love. The song received positive reviews from music critics, who praised its melody and Healy’s vocals.

The Paper Kites

I’m a little biased because I’ve been a fan of The Paper Kites since their first EP, but I think they’re a great band and their new album is definitely worth a listen. If you’re a fan of indie rock music, I think you’ll enjoy their new album. It’s a little different from their previous albums, but I think it’s a good change.

“Bloom”

The Paper Kites are an indie folk-rock five-piece band from Melbourne, Australia. The members are Sam Bentley, Christina Lacy, David Powys, Josh Bentley and Sam Rasmussen. The band’s debut album States was released in Australia in 2012 and peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart. “Bloom” is a song from that album.

“Electric Indigo”

The Paper Kites are an indie rock band that formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2010. The band consists of Sam Bentley (vocals, guitar), Christina Lacy (vocals, keyboard), David Powys (bass), Michaeluit Salomon (drums) and Alexander White (guitar). The band’s music has been described as “wistful indie pop”.

The Paper Kites released their debut EP, A Forest, in 2011. The EP peaked at number 6 on the iTunes charts in Australia. The band’s first full-length album, States, was released in 2013 and reached number 3 on the ARIA charts. The album included the singles “Young”, “Featherstone” and “Electric Indigo”.

The Paper Kites have toured extensively in Australia, Europe and North America. In 2014, the band performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The Temper Trap

One of the best new indie rock bands around, The Temper Trap has a sound that is both unique and classic. With theircatchy melodies and interesting lyrics, The Temper Trap is a band that is sure to please any indie rock fan.

“Fall Together”

The Temper Trap is an Australian rock band that formed in 2005. The group consists of Dougy Mandagi on lead vocals, Jonathon Aherne on bass guitar, Toby Dundas on drums, Joseph Greer on keyboards and Lorenzo Sillitto on lead guitar. The band released its debut album Conditions in June 2009 to favourable reviews and commercial success; peaking at No. 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and winning the ARIA Award for Best Rock Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2010. Its second album, The Temper Trap, was released in May/June 2012 under Liberation Music (outside North America) and Columbia Records (North America); peaking at No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and becoming the band’s first top-ten album in Australia.

“Trembling Hands”

The Temper Trap is an Australian indie rock band that formed in 2005. The group consists of Dougy Mandagi on lead vocals, Joseph Greer on guitar, Lorenzo Sillitto on lead guitar, Toby Dundas on drums and Jonathon Aherne on bass. The band released its debut album Conditions in May 2010 to positive reviews. The album includes the singles “Sweet Disposition”, “Fader” and “Drum Song”.

The band’s second album, produced by Tony Hoffer, was released in late May/early June 2012. The first single from the album, “Trembling Hands”, was released to radio stations in April 2012 and digitally in May 2012.

Hozier

“Take Me to Church”

Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” is a song about religious hypocrisy and the struggles of the LGBT community. The lyrics are scathing and the melody is catchy, making it one of the most popular songs of 2014.

“In the Woods Somewhere”

“In the Woods Somewhere” is a song by Irish musician Hozier, released on 5 September 2014 as the second single from his self-titled debut studio album. The song peaked at number 24 on the US Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart and number 21 on the Irish Singles Chart.

The song was written by Hozier and produced by Rob Kirwan. It was recorded in 2013 at Black Box Studios in France. The song is a mid-tempo ballad that features a electric guitar riff. The lyrics concern unrequited love and features religious imagery.

Critical reception to “In the Woods Somewhere” was generally positive. Consequence of Sound described the song as “a gorgeous ballad” and praised its production values, while Spin said it was “one of the album’s highlights”.

Alt-J

If you enjoy good indie rock music, then you have to check out Alt-J. They are a British alternative rock band that formed in 2007, and they have quickly become one of my favorite bands. They have a unique sound that is a mix of electronica, folk, and hip hop.

“Hunger of the Pine”

“Hunger of the Pine” is a song by English indie rock band Alt-J, released as the lead single from their second studio album, This Is All Yours. Written by the band and produced by frequent collaborator Charlie Andrew, the song was recorded in early 2014 at studios in London and Oxfordshire. It features sampling of Miley Cyrus’ song “4x4”, which she approved of.

“Every Other Freckle”

“Every Other Freckle” is a song by English indie rock band Alt-J from their second studio album, This Is All Yours. Written by the band, it was produced by Charlie Andrew. The song was released on 26 August 2014 as the second single from the album.
