“The Way of All Flesh” by Gojira

Gojira is a French heavy metal band from Bayonne. The band was known as Godzilla until 2001. Gojira is composed of Joe Duplantier on vocals and rhythm guitar, his brother Mario Duplantier on drums, lead guitarist Christian Andreu, and bassist Jean-Michel Labadie.

Guitarist Joe Duplantier, drummer Mario Duplantier, and bassist Jean-Michel Labadie formed the band in 1996 under the name Godzilla. The trio initially met while attending secondary school in their hometown of Bayonne in the southwest of France. The band’s music style is mainly rooted in death metal with elements of groove metal, melodic death metal, sludge metal and hardcore punk.

In June 2008, Gojira released their fourth studio album entitled The Way of All Flesh. The album sold 8,900 copies in its first week and debuted at number 54 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band’s highest charting album in the United States to date.
