Maggie Rogers

Maggie Rogers is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. She rose to prominence in 2016 after her song “Alaska” went viral on YouTube. Rogers has released one studio album, Heard It in a Past Life, and two EPs. Her music has been described as neo-folk and she has drawn comparisons to Sufjan Stevens and Joni Mitchell.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Rogers moved to New York City to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. While there, she studied under the musician and producer Rick Rubin. In 2016, she released her song “Alaska” online; it quickly went viral after being played by Pharrell Williams during a master class at NYU. The song was included on Rogers’ EP Now That the Light Is Fading, which was released later that year. In 2017, she toured North America with Leon Bridges and sang at the Glastonbury Festival. Her debut studio album Heard It in a Past Life was released in 2019 to positive reviews.

Rogers’ music has been described as neo-folk and often features elements of pop and electronic music. Her lyrics have been praised for their introspective nature, and she has been compared to Sufjan Stevens and Joni Mitchell for her songwriting ability.

Lany

Lany is the stage name of New York-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Paul Jason Klein. The project started as a solo endeavor in 2014 and has since expanded into a three-piece band. Klein grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and began playing piano at age six. He later took up guitar and songwriting as a teenager. He studied vocal performance at the University of Southern California before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music.

Lany’s music is primarily pop and draws influence from indie rock and R&B. The band has released two EPs, Accelerate (2014) and Make Out (2015), as well as their debut album, Yankey Boy (2016). All three releases have been well-received by critics and have helped to grow the band’s audience. Lany is currently working on their second album, due out in 2019.

The Aces

signed to Red Bull Records in early 2017, The Aces – comprising of sisters Cristal and Alisa Ramirez (lead vocals/rhythm guitar and drums, respectively), Katy Gillespie (bass) and McKenna Petty (lead guitar) – released their debut EP ‘I Don’t Like Being Honest’ later that year. The Utah-based quartet’s perfect blend of pop, rock and indie-leaning sounds received effusive praise from the likes of NME, Rookie Mag, Teen Vogue, Idolator and more.
