J. Cole has dropped a new single titled “The Climb Back,” along with an accompanying music video. The track is the first release from Cole’s forthcoming album, The Off-Season, which does not yet have a release date.

“The Climb Back” finds Cole reflecting on his come-up in the rap game, and how he’s maintained his position at the top despite any doubters. Over a triumphant horn-laden beat, Cole raps about his grind and resilience: “Had to really toughen up/ I was too soft in the industry / I was too naïve.”

The music video for “The Climb Back” features footage of Cole’s hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina, as well as shots of the rapper recording in the studio. Throughout the clip, Cole is seen giving back to his community, visiting with kids and handing out gifts.

“The Climb Back” is available now on all major streaming platforms.

Lil Baby – “The Bigger Picture”

“The Bigger Picture” is the third single from American rapper Lil Baby’s second studio album, My Turn (2020). The song was released on June 12, 2020, amid the George Floyd protests.

The track was produced by Tay Keith, 808 Mafia and Lil Baby himself. It features a guest appearance from American rapper Rylo Rodriguez.

Lil Baby debuted “The Bigger Picture” live on June 7, 2020, during a Black Lives Matter protest in Atlanta. The following day, he previewed the song on social media. On June 12, 2020, Lil Baby released the official audio and music video for “The Bigger Picture” on YouTube.

J. Cole – “The Climb Back”

“The Climb Back” is the first single from J. Cole’s sixth studio album, The Off-Season. The song was released on July 22, 2020, along with the announcement of the album.

Cole started working on The Off-Season in February 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to his plans. He finished the album in June 2020, and decided to release it early due to the current state of the world.

“The Climb Back” is a contemplative track that finds Cole reflecting on his come-up and all the obstacles he’s had to overcome. Over a hazy, atmospheric beat, Cole addresses his haters, his doubters and anyone who’s ever counted him out.

The song’s music video was directed by Scott Lazer and shot entirely on an iPhone 11 Pro. It finds Cole walking through his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina, as he reminisces about his childhood and reflects on where he is today.

Lil Baby – “The Bigger Picture”

On June 12, 2020, American rapper Dominique Armani Jones, better known by his stage name Lil Baby, released “The Bigger Picture”, a protest song about the George Floyd protests and police brutality in the United States. The song was released on World Day Against Child Labor, and its proceeds will be donated to the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

The music video for “The Bigger Picture” was directed by Kevin Cortez and filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. It features Lil Baby walking through his neighborhood as he is being followed by police officers. The video also includes footage from the George Floyd protests.

Lil Baby has said that he wanted to make a song that would make people think about what is going on in the world and what they can do to make a change. He hopes that “The Bigger Picture” will inspire people to come together and fight for justice.
