The festival started in 1993 as a one-time event to honor the birthday of Jamaican singer Tony Rebel, who founded the festival. The event is now an annual festival held in Port Antonio, Jamaica. The two-day festival features vintage reggae music, as well as more modern styles of the genre.

Reggae on the River

Reggae on the River is an annual reggae music festival that takes place in Humboldt County, California. The event is held on the banks of the Eel River and features a variety of reggae performers from around the world.

The festival was founded in 1984 by Tom Fahner and Mary Cheater. Fahner was inspired to start the event after attending a reggae concert in Jamaica. The first Reggae on the River festival was held in 1985 and featured only local artists.

In subsequent years, the festival grew in popularity and began to attract international performers. In 1997, the festival was forced to move to a new location after its original site was flooded.
