Newsted is a heavy metal music t-shirt company that was founded in 2014. The company is named after Jason Newsted, the former bassist of Metallica. Newsted’s mission is to provide the world with the heaviest, most metal t-shirts possible.
About the band
Newsted is a heavy metal band formed in 2012 by former Metallica, Voivod and Flotsam and Jetsam bassist Jason Newsted. The band’s current lineup consists of Newsted on lead vocals and bass, Jessie Farnsworth on guitar and backing vocals, Mike Meselsohn on guitar and Chad Phillips on drums.
Newsted’s self-titled debut EP was released on January 8, 2013, followed by their first full-length album Heavy Metal Music on August 6, 2013. The band toured in support of both releases. In October 2014, Newsted left the band to focus on his personal life. He was replaced by former Ozzy Osbourne and Mr. Big bassist Billy Sheehan.

The band’s line-up consisted of former Metallica, Voivod and Flotsam and Jetsam bassist Jason Newsted, Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, drummer John Tempesta and Ugly Kid Joe vocalist Whitfield Crane. Newsted wrote the majority of the lyrics for the band’s self-titled debut album.

Newsted’s debut album, Heavy Metal Music, was released on August 6, 2013. The band’s second album, Fifteen Minutes (2019), features vocals from former Ghost singer Papa Emeritus III.

Newsted is the debut EP by heavy metal band Newsted, released on January 8, 2013. It was the first release of new material by Jason Newsted since his departure from Metallica in 2001. The EP comprises five songs, two of which (“Soldierhead” and “King of the Underdogs”) were released as singles. A music video was also made for “Soldierhead”.
