Nirvana- Smells Like Teen Spirit

Nirvana was one of the most popular grunge bands of the early nineties. Hailing from Seattle, Nirvana’s sound was a mix of punk and heavy metal. The band’s breakthrough album, Nevermind, was released in 1991 and featured the iconic single “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Nirvana went on to achieve massive success with their follow-up album, In Utero, before the untimely death of singer Kurt Cobain in 1994.

Pearl Jam- Even Flow

One of grunge’s most popular and enduring anthems, “Even Flow” was also one of Pearl Jam’s first great hits. It was released on their 1991 debut album, Ten, and became one of the band’s staples, appearing on all their live albums. The song’s success helped propel Ten to become one of the best-selling albums of the ’90s.

Alice in Chains- Man in the Box

Alice in Chains is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1987 by guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney, who later recruited bassist Mike Inez and singer Layne Staley. The band’s name derived from Staley’s previous group, the glam metal band Alice N’ Chains. Although widely associated with grunge music, the band’s sound incorporates heavy metal elements. Since its formation, Alice in Chains has released five studio albums, three EPs, two live albums, four compilations, and two DVDs. The band is known for its distinctive vocal style which often included the harmonized vocals of Staley and Cantrell.

Alice in Chains rose to international fame as part of the grunge movement of the early 1990s. The band’s debut album, Facelift (1990), was a huge success and has been certified double platinum by the RIAA for shipments of two million copies in the United States. The band’s second album, Dirt (1992), was also very successful and has been certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA for shipments of four million copies in the United States. The singles “Would?”, “Man in the Box”, “Them Bones”, “Angry Chair”, “Rooster”, and “Down in a Hole” from Dirt have been ranked among Classic Rock’s Greatest Songs of All Time. Soundgarden- Black Hole Sun

Soundgarden was one of the most successful grunge bands of the early 1990s. The band’s third studio album, “Superunknown,” was released in 1994 and featured the hit single “Black Hole Sun.” The song became one of the band’s most popular songs and helped propel “Superunknown” to the top of the charts.

Stone Temple Pilots- Interstate Love Song

“Interstate Love Song” is a song by American rock band Stone Temple Pilots, released as the second single from their second album, Purple. The song topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for eight weeks in 1994 and is the band’s most successful single on the chart. It peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving the band their second top 40 hit after “Creep”. “Interstate Love Song” was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1995.
