The album helped Eminem attain five Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album. In 2002, Eminem released The Eminem Show, which was another huge success. This album featured the hit singles “Without Me” and “Cleanin’ Out My Closet.”

Eminem has had a very successful career in music; however, he has also been plagued by personal problems. These issues came to a head in 2000 with the release of the film 8 Mile. The film is loosely based on Eminem’s life and deals with many of the struggles he faced growing up poor in Detroit. Despite its controversial nature, 8 Mile was a critical and commercial success. It won two Academy Awards and grossed over $242 million dollars worldwide.

Born on a military base in Germany and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina,Cole initially gained recognition as a rapper following the release of his debut mixtape, The Come Up, in early 2007. Intent on further pursuing a solo career as a rapper, he released two additional mixtapes after signing to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation imprint in 2009. Cole released his debut studio album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, in 2011 to commercial success.
