The main campus buildings are located on either side of Lincoln Avenue, with the main entrance and ticket office located on the south side of the building at 909 W. Armitage Ave.

Discounts

A 15% discount is available for groups of 10 or more people. Group reservations must be made through the Group Sales office and paid for in a single transaction to receive the discount; discounts are not available for online purchases. Old Town School of Folk Music has been located in the heart of Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood since it was founded in 1957. Our two main performance venues, the Main Hall and the JoAnne Harris Concert Hall, are situated on the second floor of our historic building.

Sections

There are four main sections in the Old Town School of Folk Music: the Dance floor, the Balcony, the Lower Level, and the Mezzanine. Each section has a different vibe and offers a different experience.

The Dance floor is the largest section and is located on the main level. This is where most of the action happens and where you’ll find the best view of the stage. The Balcony is located upstairs and offers a more intimate setting. The Lower Level is located downstairs and has a more relaxed atmosphere. The Mezzanine is located in between the Lower Level and the Balcony and offers a great view of the stage.

Old Town School of Folk Music offers an array of seating options for both students and faculty that are physically disabled. The school is entirely handicap accessible with three main options for seating in each classroom. These options are as follows:

For events at the Maurer Hall and Szold Music & Dance Hall, wheelchair-accessible seating is located on the main floor. Parking

The Old Town School of Folk Music is located at 4544 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago, IL. There is a parking lot adjacent to the school, as well as limited street parking. Please see the parking map below for more information.

On-site

Old Town School has two parking lots: the South lot, located on Randolph Street between Paulina and Lincoln; and the North lot, located on Lincoln Avenue between Naperville and Richmond. You can also find metered street parking along most of our blocks. Please be mindful of posted signs and do not park in residential areas.

Off-site

Old Town School of Folk Music has several parking lots and street parking available for guests. The East Lots are available for $10/day on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is also available on the street and in the area for $2/hour.
