One potential drawback of electronic music is that it can sometimes lack the emotion and feeling of traditional, acoustic music.

The Drawback

Though there are many great things about electronic music, one potential drawback is that it can sometimes be repetitive and lack the soul that comes with music that is played with real instruments.

The loss of physicality

When music is purely digital, performed by machines and consumed on screens, it can feel strangely ethereal and intangible. We no longer hold vinyl records in our hands, or gather around a piano to sing together. There’s a loss of physicality that can make electronic music feel less human.

The lack of personality

While there are plenty of advantages to electronic music, there is one big disadvantage: the lack of personality.

When you listen to a DJ set or a live performance by a producer, you can tell that they are talented, but you don’t really get a sense of who they are as people. This is because electronic music is so computer-generated and impersonal.

The best DJs and producers are the ones who can put their own stamp on their music, and make it sound unique. But unfortunately, this is something that is very difficult to do with electronic music. As a result, many producers and DJs end up sounding the same, and the genre can sometimes lack originality.

The Solution

Electronic music has revolutionized the music industry, but it has also created a new problem. The problem is that it is easy to create music that sounds exactly the same as other music. This can be a good thing if you want to create a specific sound, but it can also be a bad thing if you want your music to sound unique. The solution is to use a software that can help you create unique sounds.

Bring back the physicality

With the invention of the mp3 player, the concept of owning music changed dramatically. No longer were people buying physical copies of albums, instead they were buying digital files that could be stored on a small device and taken with them anywhere. This was a great convenience for music lovers, but it also had a major downside. The physicality of music was lost.

Albums could now be purchased online and downloaded onto a computer or mp3 player, but there was no album artwork, no liner notes, and no tangible product to hold in your hands. For many people, this was not a big deal. They were still able to listen to their favorite artists and had all of their music in one place. But for others, the loss of the physicality was a major disappointment.

There are now some companies that are trying to bring back the physicality of music by selling vinyl records and cassette tapes. These companies are hoping to appeal to people who miss the feeling of holding an album in their hands and who want to support the artists they love in a more tangible way. Only time will tell if this trend will catch on, but it is definitely something to watch out for if you’re a music lover who prefers physical copies of albums over digital files.

Create more personal music

The way electronic music is composed today, it can often sound very computer-generated and impersonal. One way to make your electronic music sound more personal is to recorded yourself playing instruments, and then incorporating those recordings into your compositions. This will give your music a more human feel, and help it to stand out from the crowd.
