Filming

The video was filmed in black and white and directed by David Meyers. The video opens with a shots of a neighborhood and a girl riding her bike. The girl is shown going into a house and the camera follows her as she goes into different rooms. In each room, there are different people doing different things. There is a woman sweeping the floor, a man cooking, a boy playing the piano, and a girl doing homework at a desk. As the girl continues moving through the house, the people in each room stop what they are doing and watch her as she passes by.

House Music

In this House Music Video, we are going to be talking about the different aspects of House Music. We will be discussing the history, the different sub-genres, and the artists who have made House Music what it is today.

History

House music is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in Chicago in the early 1980s. It was initially popularized in nightclubs played by DJs. The music is often characterized by a repetitive four-on-the-floor beat and a prominent sub-bass line. The genre was initially associated with the African-American/LGBTQ+ subculture, but has since spread to various other scenes and demographics.

Popularity

Prior to the late 1980s, house music was largely underground. In Chicago, for example, only a handful of clubs featured house music; most notably the Warehouse, which became the genesis for the style of music now known as house. However, due to the popularity of disco in the mainstream at that time, house music remained primarily an underground genre. It wasn’t until the late 1980s when house music started to become more popular in mainstream culture. This was in part due to increased exposure through the advent of music television channels like MTV, as well as the rise of rave culture. House music began to be played in nightclubs across the world and became one of the most popular genres of electronic dance music.

Evolution

House music is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the Chicago club scene in the early 1980s. The style was initially popularized by DJ Frankie Knuckles, who helped to develop and spread the genre through his work at the Warehouse, a Chicago club. House music quickly spread to other American cities, such as New York, Boston, Detroit, and Los Angeles, and then to Europe, Africa, and Asia. In the 1990s, house music became increasingly popular with the advent of rave culture. House music is now enjoyed by people all over the world and is one of the most popular genres of electronic dance music.
