What Does a Dance & Electronic Music Curator Do?

Pandora’s Dance & Electronic Music Curator are responsible for managing the music on Pandora’s website and apps. They create and maintain stations, playlists, and artist accounts; they also moderate user-generated content, respond to user feedback, and keep Pandora’s dance and electronic music offerings up-to-date. In addition to their administrative duties, they also contribute to the company’s editorial content, writing blog posts, reviews, and features.

The History of Dance & Electronic Music

Dance and electronic music have been with us for centuries, with their roots tracing back to the very earliest days of human civilization. In fact, some of the first examples of electronic music were created by early humans using rudimentary instruments like bone flutes and drums.

As time went on, these early forms of dance and music began to evolve and change, culminating in the creation of various genres like jazz, rock, and rap. But it wasn’t until the late 20th century that electronic music truly began to take off. This was thanks in part to the advent of new technologies like synthesizers and samplers, which allowed musicians to create entirely new sounds that had never been heard before.

Since then, electronic music has continued to evolve and grow in popularity, with artists pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Today, dance and electronic music can be found in everything from mainstream pop songs to underground club tracks, and there’s no telling where it will go next.

The Future of Dance & Electronic Music

Since the launch of Pandora Radio in 2000, the company has strived to provide the best possible listening experience for its millions of users. In recent years, this has included a broader focus on dance and electronic music.

As we look to the future, we are excited to announce that we have hired a new Curator for our Dance & Electronic Music stations. Chris Martin is a world-renowned DJ, producer, and label owner who will be bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience to help shape the future of these stations.

Chris is best known for his work as one half of the duo System of a Down, as well as his solo work under the alias DJ Scud. He has released several highly acclaimed albums and singles, including the seminal techno classic “Blast Off!” on Planet Mu Records.

We sat down with Chris to discuss his vision for Pandora’s Dance & Electronic Music stations, and he had this to say:

“My goal is to build upon Pandora’s already great foundation of dance and electronic music stations by expanding our genre offerings, adding more variety within each station, and giving listeners even more control over what they hear. I want to create an unbeatable listening experience for fans of all kinds of dance and electronic music.”

We’re thrilled to have Chris on board, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for our Dance & Electronic Music stations!
