Introduction

Piano Opera: Music from Final Fantasy is an album series containing piano arrangements of songs from the Final Fantasy video game series. The music was composed and arranged by Final Fantasy series creator Nobuo Uematsu, and performed by pianist Tsutomu Narita. The album series was first released in Japan in 2007, and has since been released worldwide.

The first album in the series, Piano Opera: Music from Final Fantasy I/II/III, contains piano arrangements of songs from the first three numbered Final Fantasy games. The arrangements are based on the original video game versions of the songs, as opposed to the later orchestrated versions. The album also includes a bonus track, “Aerith’s Theme”, which is an arrangement of the song “Aeris’s Theme” from the game Final Fantasy VII.

Piano Opera: Music from Final Fantasy IV/V/VI was released in 2008, and contains piano arrangements of songs from Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI. Again, the arrangements are based on the original video game versions of the songs, as opposed to the later orchestrated versions. The album also includes a bonus track, “Terra’s Theme”, which is an arrangement of the song “Terra’s Theme” from the game Final Fantasy VI.

The third and final album in the series, Piano Opera: Music from Final Fantasy VII/VIII/IX, was released in 2009, and contains piano arrangements of songs from Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX. As with the previous albums, the arrangements are based on the original video game versions of the songs, as opposed to the later orchestrated versions. The album also includes a bonus track, “melodies of life”, which is an English-language version of “Melodies Of Life”, originally composed for Final Fantasy IX.

The Early Days

Originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu, the “Piano Opera” series features solo piano arrangements of tracks from the “Final Fantasy” video game franchise. The first volume, “Piano Opera: Music from Final Fantasy I/II/III,” was released in Japan in 2004 and features solo piano arrangements of tracks from the first three “Final Fantasy” games.

The First Final Fantasy

The first Final Fantasy was released in Japan on December 18, 1987. The game was an instant hit, and a North American release followed in September of the next year. Final Fantasy quickly became one of the most popular RPGs of all time, sparking a franchise that would go on to release dozens of sequels, spin-offs, and related media over the next thirty years.

Final Fantasy is set in a medieval-esque fantasy world filled with magic and monsters. The player takes control of a group of four young heroes who must save the world from the evil forces of Chaos. Along the way, they will face challenges and make allies, learning the true meaning of courage and friendship.

Final Fantasy was groundbreaking for its time, featuring engaging gameplay, rich storytelling, and unforgettable characters. It remains one of the most beloved RPGs of all time, and its legacy continues to this day.

The Second Final Fantasy

The second installment in the Final Fantasy series was originally released in Japan in 1988. It wasn’t until three years later, in 1991, that the game made its way overseas to North America and Europe.

Final Fantasy II was very different from its predecessor, both in terms of gameplay and story. The turn-based combat system of the original game was replaced with a more action-oriented approach, and the story was much more complex than that of the first game.

Despite its differences, Final Fantasy II was a success, selling over four million copies worldwide. It cemented the series as one of the most popular role-playing games of all time.

The Modern Era

As the 21st century progresses, video games are becoming more and more popular. In addition, the music in these video games is also becoming more popular. The “Piano Opera: Music from Final Fantasy” album is a compilation of music from the Final Fantasy video game series, and it is one of the most popular albums of this type.

The Third Final Fantasy

The third Final Fantasy game was released in 1990, and with it came a new era of music for the series. Composer Nobuo Uematsu created a more modern and synth-based soundscape for the game, which helped to solidify the franchise’s identity moving forward. The game’s soundtrack is widely considered to be one of the best in the series, and its themes have become some of the most iconic in all of gaming.

The Fourth Final Fantasy

The fourth Final Fantasy was originally released in Japan in 1991 and later in North America in 1992. The game expanded on the job system introduced in the previous installment, allowing players to choose from a variety of unique classes for their characters. The story followed the journey of Cecil, a dark knight who sets out to stop the evil ruler of Baron from destroying the world.

The game was a commercial success, selling over two million copies worldwide. It was also well-received by critics, who praised its graphics, music, and gameplay. The fourth Final Fantasy is often considered one of the best games in the series and is credited with popularizing the franchise outside of Japan.
